DavidE
Pressing the "Alt" key causes a padlock image to be displayed in the upper right hand corner of all open charts. What is that?
Jerry Medved
it is for drawing trendlines, etc. One common problem with drawing trendlines is you try to draw a new tendline starting at the end of another one and instead of drawing a new one, you end up grabbing/moving the old one. To avold that, if you hold down the ALT key, the existing trenlines are "locked" (thus the padlock) and cannot be grabbed, so you are safe to draw new ones. DavidE
Thanks, both of you. I did try to look it up in the help file but could not locate the reference. I'll have another go at it.
DavidE
OK, found it under "lock". I was searching for "alt" and keyboard functions.
Jerry Medved
Mike is pushing the help file because he did not get any replies on a post he put up about it a while ago, and thinks nobody is using it. I see that you did use it before posting (even if you didn't find the answer the first time). See Mike, it is used!
DavidE
The help file is a thing of beauty and reflects a lot of effort and thought. Kudos to Mike for an excellent job!
