Linear Regression Channel and Single Regression

Question

Hi Jerry are these two indicators going to be added to MT and if so is there any ETA? Also would it be possible to allow to add more custom fibonacci levels? In QT there was a box for 3 custom fib levels however it would be very helpful if there was at least 5-8 extra custom levels available in MT as this was an issue in QT. Also I noticed the bollinger band indicator will only allow a setting of 2 standard deviations or greater. QT allowed less than 2, and even less than 1, and this was very useful, so I hope it can be added. Lastly would it be possible to allow to add a fib retracement by right clicking a trend line and having an option in the contect menu that way you won't have to go switching between tools. Its much easier to just draw a trendline and then have the retracement projected. So far everything in the software seems pretty good. Thanks.

Yes, we will add them. Don't have an ETA but it will be one of the first ones.

As for custom levels on Fib - we will probably do it (have a todo item for that already)

Bollinger Bands - I changed it.  You can go to FILE/HELP/Check Updates and get the update. Once you restart, it should let you enter lower values for the Std. Dev... (the updates to indicators and sites take affect after restart. The app does not force a restart for those, unlike the full update)

As for trendline to fib conversion - the actual conversion is not a big deal. The UI however is, since there is no menu when you right click. It goes directly to the editor and there really isn't any place to add options like that there. That editor screen is completely dynamic, so I can't just add a button there. It would have to be worked into the whoe structure for the way the editor is defined. Not too crazy about doing that right now

I tried to update like you said but it did not work exactly. I can now use the down arrow to lower the stan. dev. below 2 but I can't go below 1.0. I want to be able to go below 1 like QT allowed. Also would it be possible to add a setting on the PSAR indicator to make the dots smaller like QT allowed?

you don't have the update if its not letting you go below 1. I will check on that.

As for Parabolic SAR dot size - you know, I completely forgot about that. That should be an easy change. will do.

When I go into updates it says you have the latest version (1.0.793.126), however when I tried to adjust the bollinger band below 1 it just reverts back to 1. Also I still don't see anyway to adjust the thickness of the PSAR. Is there a way to manually update?

though we do have separate implementations of some indicators for intraday and Historical (Pivot Points for example), Bollinger Bands are the same for both. I just checked and am able to go to zero for the Std. Dev... are you sure it is working for you for one but not the other?

Okay for some reason when I opened MT this morning it ask me if I wanted to update tot he new version and now the bollinger bands work fine. I am not sure why it wasn't updating the other times. I will keep you posted on other issues that I notice. Thanks.

the problem with that is that we are not bringing up a menu for the right click. We are bringing up the editor. Adding stuff like copy/delete/change to fib.. is problematic for that.  I do have a trouble ticket logged to look at that at some point

Is it possible to have the single regression channel on historical charts be plotted to where it encompasses the entire period in view on the chart?  By default it is showing 20 days.  SO if looking at a 3 month chart,  only 20 days are considered.

eg: VBP on the historical chart has an option for the 'period' as 'visible'.  Such an option for SRC would be nice so that one does not have to manually calculate the period in terms of days the way we currently have to in QT, as well as MT.
