Access to Bitcoin Charting

trader6823

Question

Any chance or possibility to add Bitcoin to Medved Trader or is it already available? I don't necessarily mean to trade Bitcoin but just to view quotes and charts in Medved Trader? I have not been able to find any charting software to display my system on current bitcoin charting platforms.

I get my current Bitcoin Charts from here.  Not sure if they have a API.

https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/coinbase/btcusd

It looks like they might use many different API's to get data for each different exchange.

I have an account with Coinbase and they have a API.:

https://developers.coinbase.com/

https://developers.coinbase.com/docs/wallet/guides/price-data

Any update? Bitcoin, Ethereum and also add Litecoin trading to the request since coinbase now supports it?  Trading in these has really picked up and there isn't much out there in terms of good charting.

Thanks.

NOTE: right now we are handling Crypto stuff in a more traditional market data maner. The VOLUME, CHANGE, HIGH and LOW are relative to midnight GMT. On the various websites however, they seem to use a rolling 24 hour timeframe. Some stuff is updated hourly, at least with Bitfinex.  Seems very odd. We will need to make some core changes to handle it the way they do. Plus not sure how that would work with intraday charts where some indicators such as Pivots rely on having a consistent session and corresponding HIGH/LOW.

I find the rolling 24 hour timeframe completely useless. When you see "change" on a currency, you want to know that it means it went up or down in the last X hours (since the start of the session). When these sites use the rolling24 thing, a big negative change, for example, may mean that the value went down hard OR that it went up hard at the same time 24 hours ago while staying about the same right now. Or anywhere in between. It doesn't give you the sense of what's going on. I really don't understand why all these sites stick with this. It's pointless.

There's a reason why EVERY other market has trading sessions and tracks things accordingly. These guys just want to be different for difference's sake? And they have to jump through hoops to do the rolling frame, because it is a lot harder to track on the server side. Weird.
