jschwa
Acts like I've never used MT before How can I recover my data
Jerry Medved
If you backed it up using FILE/Export Settings, you can just go to FILE/Import Settings and specify the file. Beyond that, it would be dependent on how you backed things up. Can you elaborate on what you happened? what exactly are you trying to recover? jschwa
I think I may have used the wrong user name when Mt asked me to sign in.. MT doesn't usually ask me for login
Jerry Medved
MT supports multiple clients using the same install - so it keeps the settings per logged in user. Logging in with a different account will get you completely different settings. If you registered twice, and switched logins on starup, then that may be what you are seeing. Correct? if you look in your local data directory for MT: %appdata%\2gk\Medved Trader Each "User" has files named starting with their email address. Do you see files starting with more than one email address? If so, try logging in with each of them and see which has the setup you want. jschwa
I did a windows 7 system restore and seems to fix most of my problems . Portfolios are available .Layout of screen needs fooling around to get all my chart windows to show but looks doable For next time I have this type of problem: Couldn't access %appdata%\2gk\Medved Trader. What is complete address? How do I backup automatically on exit? How do I restore from backups if i have problems? Thanks much JS
Jerry Medved
if you hit START+R, you should be able to copy/paste the path I gave. On Windows 7, the absolute path should be something like: C:\Users\<Windows Login Name>\AppData\Roaming\2GK\Medved Trader We do not currently have automatic backup. Will be adding in the future. You can manually backup using FILE / Export Settings option. Use FILE/Import Settings to "Restore"
