its not really a matter of switching off functions. I am not aware of any specific change that would cause that. Is it something that is relatively easy to tell if it is happening? If so, I need to narrow down to which specific version the issue started in. I can email you a handful of versions to try and see which one started the problem?

when you hit CTRL+T or otherwise select TRADE, MT needs to know what account to use, if there is more than one. If no default (initially), it just picks the first one. But once you do select a default, it goes to that. Since it has to pick something, there is no reason to NOT have a default. Same as selecting first account as a default. Why don't you just drag the symbol to the trade ticket?

Default Trading account does not hinder you from trading other accounts. What it does is just determine what is the default account to open Trade Ticket for if you right click and select TRADE. However, you can: change the account on the trade ticket. Drag a symbol to an existing trade ticket regardless of the account have any account selected for trading in Chart trading open a trade ticket on any account from the dashboard Also, if you are initiating trading or opening a trade ticket from another trade enabled window, then it will always open the trade ticket in the same account as the one selected on that trade window

the issue is that we need to add special permissions to enable the HTTP API on Windows 7. But not on Win 10. I emailed you a fix. To have it work in the current version, just run MT "As Administrator" (right click on the shortcut used to start MT and select to run it as administrator)

oops, I gave wrong list as far as index symbols - those are for TD Ameritrade. The TK symbols are: $VIX, $SPX, $DJU, $DJT, $DJI, $COMPQ As for streaming, if you restart MT, does it work OK?

thanks Dave. I took it out of the rotation. There is an issue with updating individual indicators in the currently released version, which is why it is not actually getting updated. That update only impacted Paintbars.

I saw an issue when you posted, but then when I was about to email TK, seems that stuff kicked in. If you hit STOP button on top of the portfolio, then START button, do the quotes startup ok now?

right now we cannot have those edited inline, though sometime in the future, will look. However, you do not need to go to the dashboard to get to the portfolio editor. We give you multiple ways to get to it right on the portfolio window. 1) There is (by default) an "Edit Portfolios" button in the QAT (Quick Access Toolbar - shows on left side of the portfolio caption). Looks like a grid with a pencil pointing to it. 2) If you have the ribbon toolbar open, note that the stuff there is in groups. The first group is "Portfolio" where you have the Portfolio dropdown list as well as the quote source dropdown list. look on the bottom right of the group. Noe that there is a little box with an arrow there. Clicking on it will also bring up the portfolio editor In both cases, the portfolio editor will come up with the current portfolio already selected. As for the dashboard, if you do need to get to it, in most cases you can just use the Dropdown Dashboard. hit the F12 key on almost any MT window or the 4 color button on top right of the window. If you wish to bring up the main dashboard window (it lets you see more stuff, like sources, Open windows, etc) you can hit SHIFT+F12 on any window.

For anyone else seeing this post, 2 issues found: 1) on Windows 7 (but not on Win 10), we needed to do some special permissions to allow for an HTTP server. For production version, you can just run MT As Admin and that will take care of it. 2) there was a bug on our end if creating new portfolios. Adding symbols with HGSI to existing portfolios was working Both issues will be addressed in future builds.
