No, we sure hope we made it easy to use without having to know QT first. Basically, create/open a portfolio (list of symbols on which you get quotes). Select which quote source you want to use. Double click to open intraday charts. Right click for other options (on pretty much anything) and also look in the ribbon and settings for the window. Emailed you the beta. I am sure you will add a fresh perspective Jerry

We didn't want to do that for the core indicators. However, note that MT does do that for some stuff. For example, MA Envelope and MA Ribbon - you get to select which type of MA to actually use. Same thing occurs in a few other places.

Data sources on the dashboard do not seem to be editable

The dashboard just shows you currently "Started" streamers and their current state. MT tried to start IQFeed so it was started, and the current state was faulted or login failed - which is what you saw. There is no need to remove it per se. Just change the datafeed to whatever you really do wish to use -

I think the others should change to conform to the way QuoteTracker and now Medved Trader do it. Do not want to add an extra step to have to draw.

from what I have read, it may be that when opening the dialog box, it loads all the extensions that you have for Explorer, and in your case, there was some problem. Well, maybe for some reason when you did it via Load Layout it worked, and after that the extensions were OK and the Import thing worked. I know for sure that that one si not any code I can tweak, which makes debugging a nightmare

on the dashboard, instead of import/export, what if you click LOAD LAYOUT button. Does it also lock or do you get the OPEN file dialog box?

Hmm, thats odd. How long did you give it? if you let it sit for a minute or 2, does it come up eventually?

Cannot import QT files. As for the freeze - when you select IMPORT/Restore, MT immediately opens the File Open Dialog box - for some reason on some systems doing that system call takes forever. Usually a reboot will fix.

we do not have text file import. Only delayed free source currently is Yahoo. We may add others in the future.

some people want multiple instances of the symbol. And MT doesn't really know which one you want to keep and which to remove. As for why it was done that way, basically for portfolios you can have multiple symbols to track buy/sell yet want to only show one entry. Watchlists weren't intended for that, though I guess I could enable that checkbox. Will look
