  1. The following message has popped up in the error log the last couple of days, so thought I should report it: *********** 03/19/15 2:09:27 PM: MT.Util.MTErrorObj: Type=Error Severity=Medium Action=Log, ShowIndicator Code= Message=The ORDER section of the Account Activity is missing Parameter name: Order Details=AppVer: 1.0.6726.1639 Err.Flags: Log, ShowIndicator System.ArgumentNullException: at MT.RScriptBase.AMTDAccountActivityRec..ctor(String data) in C:\MedvedTrader\RScriptBase\AMTDAccountActivity.cs:line 98 *********** 03/19/15 2:09:27 PM: MT.Util.MTErrorObj: Type=Error Severity=Medium Action=Log, ShowIndicator Code=AMTD AccountActivity Message=Value cannot be null. Thanks Tim
  2. I have a short position that is showing as a long position in the Account View, so the Quantity, Gain$ and Gain% are opposite of what they should be. This is for a TD Ameritrade account. The Trade Log information is correct. Please let me know if you need any other information from me. Thanks, Tim
  3. Today I decided to turn off the "Show Projected" option on the Volume for my charts, but I can't seem to get it to turn off. I have the option un-selected on all of my charts, but its still there: Please let me know if you need any other information from me. Thanks,Tim
  4. I've seen this problem for some time, but thought it was a data problem with IQFeed until I looked further today. For historical OHLC bar charts with the frequency set to "1 day", the last trading day only shows the close price for the last trading day (Friday) when looking at the chart on weekends (The Open, Low, High and volume are missing on the chart and the show trace information shows zero for volume and the close price is shown as the value for the High, Low, Open and Close.) When I click on the "Historical data" for the chart, the information in that window is correct, its just not showing correctly on the chart. Clearing the data, and doing a backfill makes no difference. Please see example for the XIN chart and historical data below for 2/27/2015: Please let me know if you need any other information from me. Thanks, Tim
  5. Cool. I think most folks will want MT to come up with everything exactly the way they had it when they last shut down. Thanks, Tim
  6. There is one thing about this that I'd recommend: On starting up MT, have the "View" of the dashboard restored to the view that was last used. It currently comes up with the "Dashboard" view. I had mine set to "Sources" which is what I'll care about most of the time as MT is running. Thanks, Tim
  7. Mike, If I recall correctly....when I had let my SDATA.BIN file grow quite large (about 3 GB for me), I "think" the MT.exe process grew along with it. (Its been a few months....not sure about that.) Then with only 8GB on the machine, the Cached and Available memory would be quite a bit lower than normal, and the Free memory would go extremely low, such as you can see in vrtrader64's picture of his Task Manager at the top of this post. When that happens MT's performance would start to lag as the CPU Usage would go up considerably as well. Shutting down MT and deleting the SDATA.BIN file ALWAYS fixed this problem, so I've just kept mine fairly small. MT also starts up faster with a smaller SDATA.BIN file as well, but maybe only by 30 seconds or so....no big deal there. I can load a bunch of symbols into my charts and get the SDATA.BIN file to get huge again if you'd like me to verify what I've said above.....and perhaps compare it to what things look like with a small SDATA.BIN file. Just let me know. Thanks, Tim
  8. You can try what I do to see if it solves your problem. I have my MT set at 55 days of intraday data because I also use it for after hours research. Pulling in many symbols causes the SDATA.BIN file to grow quite large (I suspect your's is over 1GB in size). When I see my SDATA.BIN file grow to over 500 MB after doing research, I shut down MT, delete the SDATA.BIN, SNEWS.BIN, and SNEWS.BIN.bak files (these get recreated at startup). This keeps MT running well (plenty of free and cached memory) as my machine only has 8 GB as well. I had similar problems months ago, but do this regularly and have had none since. (When I first noticed the issue, I believe my SDATA.BIN file was over 3 GB in size.) I have tried the "Consolidate data on next app start" to reduce the size of the SDATA.BIN file, but that doesn't seem to clean up much data space for symbols that have been recently added, even if they have been deleted from my portfolios. Jerry and/or Mike may have a better solution, but if not I suspect this will help.....more memory might do the equivalent. Tim
  9. I just got this error that forces a shutdown of MT. I think I got the same error yesterday but saved the info today. Please let me know if you'd like the log file emailed once MT has been restarted: Problem signature: Problem Event Name: BEX64 Application Name: MT.exe Application Version: 1.0.6184.1628 Application Timestamp: 54d3f19b Fault Module Name: clr.dll Fault Module Version: 4.0.30319.18444 Fault Module Timestamp: 52717f9a Exception Offset: 000000000023cce3 Exception Code: c0000409 Exception Data: 0000000000000000 OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48 Locale ID: 1033 Additional Information 1: b9ee Additional Information 2: b9eeb0b6a1e51c14b66e273317addd76 Additional Information 3: fc74 Additional Information 4: fc740fd72e95d00cbb7af22d30300643 Read our privacy statement online: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=104288&clcid=0x0409 If the online privacy statement is not available, please read our privacy statement offline: C:\Windows\system32\en-US\erofflps.txt Thanks, Tim
  10. The refresh probably would have worked....didn't know about that (just added it to the QAT). The log file has been emailed. Thanks, Tim
  11. FYI, I bought a stock this morning which went through fine (using TD Ameritrade), but the position never showed up in the positions tab of the Account View window. It showed in the transactions tab though. I used another application to exit the position. Please let me know if you'd like me to email any log files, etc. Thanks, Tim
  12. Today I received an error when requesting the news for symbol "LAKE". See image below and you can see that the entry for the first news story looks incorrect: I also got an error message when clicking on that entry, so I'll send the log file, including News data, to MT support. Thanks, Tim
  13. OK, that makes sense. I've come to depend on that time turning red during the last minute before market open and close.....a very nice feature. Thanks, Tim
  14. Hmmm, I just updated my Windows 7 time, (using the internet time selection....not much change afterwards ), then I restarted MT.....MT is still showing 5-6 minutes slower than the current time. Or, did I miss something in you explanation? Thanks, Tim
  15. Does the time showing on the bottom right corner of the portfolios and dashboard come from the MT servers or from somewhere else? It caught my attention today because mine is showing about 5 minutes slow. Thanks, Tim
  16. The log file is showing the following error message a couple of times today: *********** 11/24/14 7:53:34 PM: MT.Util.MTErrorObj: Type=Error Severity=Medium Action=Log, ShowIndicator Code= Message=Object reference not set to an instance of an object. 17. This issue has happened at least twice over the past couple of weeks including this morning. Sometimes after starting MT, the news items don't stream (or snapshot) in, even though the dashboard shows all data sources "Streaming". I noticed it shortly after The Fly On The Wall was added to MT. I have news sources set for Yahoo, IQFeed, and TFOTW. This morning I decided to create an export file in case you'd like to look at it. I checked the log file and News data options. I got a prompt stating that the windows using the News data would close and re-open so it could export the news data. As soon as the portfolio windows reopened, the light bulbs were showing and today's TFOTW news was coming in. However, today's Yahoo news is still not there. (Or any recent Yahoo news, unless I had recently entered that stock symbol into a portfolio.) I have emailed the export file in case you'd like to look at at. Please let me know if you need any other information from me. Thanks, Tim
  18. I just exported and emailed the log file. The error only occurred once.
  19. FYI, this error message just popped up: Medved Trader encountered an Error Object reference not set to an instance of an object. Please contact Medved Trader technical support and provide the error details AppVer: 1.0.5224.1400 Err.Flags: Log, ShowIndicator, ShowToUser System.NullReferenceException: at MT.ChartDataObject.FullRecalc(Boolean WaitToEnd) in C:\MedvedTrader\MT\ChartDataObject.cs:line 798 Thanks, Tim
  20. I received the following error message a couple of times late in the trading day today: Medved Trader encountered an Error Index was outside the bounds of the array. Please contact Medved Trader technical support and provide the error details AppVer: 1.0.5159.2305 Err.Flags: Log, ShowIndicator, ShowToUser System.IndexOutOfRangeException: at MT.ChartDataObject.FullRecalcCandle(Boolean OnlyPartial, Boolean IsTick, Boolean WaitToEnd) in C:\MedvedTrader\MT\ChartDataObject.cs:line 920 at MT.ChartDataObject.FullRecalc(Boolean WaitToEnd) in C:\MedvedTrader\MT\ChartDataObject.cs:line 809 Please let me know if you need any other information from me. Thanks, Tim
  21. Yes, that fixed the problem. I had saved about 50 symbols in a portfolio and began reviewing them today. The error was popping up on about every other symbol as I went through the list. Clearing the data on one symbol fixed the problem for that individual symbol, then clearing the data for all of the symbols from the portfolio fixed the problem for all of them. I hadn't seen the problem before, so just wanted to pass it along. Thanks, Tim
