HK~
$GOLD - Spot price CME (EOD) as found via google "stockcharts" http://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=%24GOLD GC1! - via tradeingview [not sure if true spot or a continuous contract, upon close comparison, slight difference in price] https://www.tradingview.com/e/6fbo3A1h/ Never could locate spot price via IB matching $GOLD above or price scale of GC, closest I ever came was indice from [London IB] [heck, I couldn't even get a $GOLD chart from the CME website direct for that matter, only futures charts] XAU.USD [gold-london] / XAG.USD [silver london] https://www.interactivebrokers.com/en/?f=%2Fen%2Ftrading%2Fexchanges.php%3Fexch%3Didealpro_metals%26amp%3Bshowcategories%3DCMDTY%26amp%3Bib_entity%3Dllc ^XAU Yahoo http://finance.yahoo.com/q;_ylt=Alrm2vU.L7ViCxKZOImfKT6iuYdG;_ylu=X3oDMTBxdGVyNzJxBHNlYwNVSCAzIERlc2t0b3AgU2VhcmNoIDEx;_ylg=X3oDMTBsdWsyY2FpBGxhbmcDZW4tVVMEcHQDMgR0ZXN0Aw--;_ylv=3;_ylc=X1MDMjE0MjQ3ODk0OARfcgMyBGZyA3VoM19maW5hbmNlX3dlYl9ncwRmcjIDc2EtZ3AEZ3ByaWQDBG5fZ3BzAzUEb3JpZ2luA2ZpbmFuY2UueWFob28uY29tBHBvcwMxBHBxc3RyAwRxdWVyeQNeWEFVLARzYWMDMQRzYW8DMQ--?p=http%3A%2F%2Ffinance.yahoo.com%2Fq%3Fs%3D%5EXAU%26ql%3D0&type=2button&fr=uh3_finance_web_gs&uhb=uhb2&s=^XAU GOX@CBOE also [not spot, index of miners etc...] http://www.cboe.com/products/indexcomponentsauto.aspx?product=gox http://www1.interactivebrokers.ch/contract_info/v3.8/index.php?action=CONTRACT_DETAILS&clt=1&sess=1390731550&site=IB&mid=001&conid=10811584&detlev=2 ^GOX Yahoo
Jerry Medved
MT symbols for IB Indices would be $XAU $GOX But those are not spot prices. Best bet would be the futures: @GCG14 but you have to have a subscription for that.
HK~
yep, no real long term spot price solution for Gold with IB or Tradestation, The best I was able to come up with during the year was reference the "Z" contract @GCz14 for intermediate time frames. Only data I trust is current contract [the contract I am trading]. Tradingview, Stockcharts or continuous contract data needs to be taken with a grain of salt, reference but not rely on. What I find curious is that the web based charts have data for spot gold ie. $GOLD (CME) - but spot gold price isn't available directly from exchange website. Always found that peculiar. anyway, just sharing a few options with OP.
Jerry Medved
Z stands for December. That constantly changes.
HK~
attempted XAUUSD, $XAUUSD, no plot. XAUUSD is a London commodity [not available to trade for legal US citizens],however for charting purposes is it possible to plot in MT? XAU.USD [gold-london] https://www.interact...Y&ib_entity=llc https://www.tradingview.com/e/Y6yP8V5F/ EDIT:..... This type of symbol is not currently supported. I will see what we can do for future versions Thank you kindly
