Stock alert tracking for watchlists not open

Would be great if symbol with alerts could be tracked automatically even if you don't have a watch list open for them.  Seems that if you don't have a watch list open for a specific symbol that has alerts set there is no tracking for the symbol data so no alerts go off. 

Don't know if its feasible due to MedVed supporting multiple data sources but an option might be a pseudo watch list created in the background for any stock with an alert set.

Alerts don't request data from datafeeds. Portfolios and Charts do. Can't change that.

This would be very useful.  In QT you had an option for updating quotes for all portfolios.

that causes all kinds of problems. We are not going to do that. you can have the portfolio minimized
