vrtrader64 Posted May 12, 2014 Report Share Posted May 12, 2014 In time-based intraday charts, thick vertical gridlines are used at day breaks; thin lines are used on even-spaced hours. I also see vertical grid lines used for tick charts but I cannot understand what criteria are used to draw them, or if the criteria can be chosen. Mike Medved Posted May 12, 2014 Report Share Posted May 12, 2014 In non-time-based charts, the ticks are done on arbitrary intervals (obviously, there are no regular intervals) with the criteria being: even X distance (in pixels), as many as possible, and non-overlapping of labels.
