Jerry Medved
Also, can you please send me your settings and data. go to FILE / Export Settings. Leave the checkboxes already checked, and also check QUOTE DATA Export, then send the file to me. NOTE: the file will be too big to email when you include the quote data. So easiest thing to do is send it using https://www.wetransfer.com/
Mike Medved
Basically, if/when this happens, the best thing to do is: stop quotes, make sure you can repeat the problem by switching frequencies, export both the setup and the data to a file and get us the file, with the instructions on the steps to recreate the problem... Believe me, when we can recreate the problem, it is a lot easier to fix than just from description.
alextrader777
Candle last was showing 368.97 on 60min as oppose to other values on different time frames, but again it was on the pre-market, and as soon as the market opened all the charts were aligned properly. Jerry Medved
@alextrader777, where exactly are you looking? in the Trace box showing the O: H: L: C: V: values? When I look the L: is 368.97, but that is LOW, not LAST
alextrader777
I was reading it "Last" at the 60min candle on the pre-market, which was obviously wrong, because all other time frames were showing different values. When the market opened all the charts realigned. Now obviously I cannot find it anywhere in the Trace box.
alextrader777
I am trying to help since I like MT, but I don't always have the time to provide the exact details and files that you request. Maybe it's better that you watch the charts at the pre-market and at the opening with IB feed and Google, at the different time frames. It usually shows the discrepancies, if and when they occur. Jerry Medved
right but where were you reading it? In the box showing the values or on the Y axis? The reason I asked is there is no "Last" on candles. There is only Close, which is shown with a C in the trace box. If you have the chart set to show extended only until market opens, then the 60 min candle at 9:00 will change when the market opens to only show data from 9:30 and on. If you can't get the files, can you send just the screenshot of the chart in question to support?
alextrader777
I was reading it on the Y axis at about 9:15am on 60min candle. It was probably not Last and not Close, but some stuck value on this 60min candle. And yes, I have it to show extended only until market opens. alextrader777
Can you explain how to send screen shots with yahoo mail? I'll try to do it when I'll get better organized with my time.
Jerry Medved
you made me go to Yahoo for the first time in over a year, and the email still doesn't work in Chrome In MT, right click on the chart and select COPY. In Yahoo mail, while the focus is in the area where you type the message, just PASTE the image - you can right click and select PASTE or just hit CTRL+V
alextrader777
I use Firefox. You like Chrome better?
Jerry Medved
Chrome - yes, though the copy/paste should work regardless.
alextrader777
Jerry, I have just emailed you the screen shots of SPY , the discrepancies between daily and 60min charts on the pre-market. 60min is stuck on some price and not moving. Prices are different, and the price action are different too. First bar should be the same for Daily and 60min. Other time frames, except 60min, are showing ok though. alextrader777
After markets opened the candles were different again between 60min and Daily. And I have emailed you the screen shots again. You can see different values at the scroll box. Actually this time all the time frames were different from Daily.
alextrader777
I think that Daily charts keep the pre-market values even after market opens. Is it suppose to do that?
Jerry Medved
I think that Daily charts keep the pre-market values even after market opens. Is it suppose to do that? I will look at the emails. as for above question, do you have the historical charts set to show real-time data? If not, then they will not update intraday
alextrader777
I do have "Real-Time Updates for Historical Charts" checked, in the Charts --> General
alextrader777
Is any way that charts will adjust automatically after a stock had a split? NFLX had a split and I had to clear the data and to backfill again, but I also lost the accumulated data on intraday.
Jerry Medved
Automatically - no. But manually, yes, you can, without having to clear/backfill. On the Portfolio Editor, click on NFLX. Click on the SPLIT button. Check the box to adjust data.
alextrader777
Daily chart for AQXP not showing correct values for yesterday August 10, 2015. And I am trying to backfill with IB, Google and Yahoo.
Jerry Medved
sorry for the late response. 1) when you say you are trying to backfill with those various sources, are you clearing data before backfilling? If not, it won't do any good 2) if backfilling with IB, there is an option for Hist Backfill (in SETTINGS / DATA SOURCES / Configure Accounts .. with IB Selected) whether or not the hist backfill for stocks should be RTH for stocks. Do you have it checked?
Xinfinitum
Hi, Can you tell me how to eliminate the high and low spikes on the charts. I remember the old quote tracker had that option but I cannot seem to find it. Thanks.
Jerry Medved
Xinfinitum - If you are referring to Intraday, then it is the same as QT - right click on the chart, select Spike Removal.... Note that you also have the keyboard shortcuts like CTRL+SHIFT+L to remove the lowest point in view or CTRL+SHIFT+H to remove the highest point in view
Xinfinitum
Thanks Jerry. I do see that now on the Intraday Charts. I have been using the Historical Charts instead. I guess there is no way to get rid of the spikes on the historical ones. Correct?
