  1. I'm using MT with TD Ameritrade quotes (for stocks). I notice that my SPY charts often have very large, bogus spikes, especially outside regular trading hours (9:30 AM- 4:00 PM EST). I can get rid of them by typing shift-ctrl-H or L, although this usually freezes the charts for several seconds.

Sometimes there are 4 or 5 spikes on SPY charts, within a few bars.

  2. I have a couple of questions. Can I set up OCO orders using MT? I'm with Interactive Brokers and they allow OCO's, but the interface isn't very user friendly. Ideally, I would like to automatically populate a stop order or two, a target order order or two, then a trailing stop once price went my way by a specified amount. Once an order executes, I would like to see remaining orders reduce their size accordingly (for example, if a target order executed for half the position, existing stop or trailing orders would reduce in size to half the position as well).

My other question is about windows. I see that watchlist, portfolio and help windows have no priority and oftentimes get hidden behind chart windows. Can I change this so that the above windows will be on top if I click on them, or go behind if I click on another window that is behind it?

    Thanks.

  3. I'm using Interactive Brokers as my intraday quote source. Sometimes a few symbols aren't updating on the charts nor watchlist, even though my TWS window shows streaming quotes. Recent problem symbols: GDX, GDXJ, UNG. I changed quote source to TD Ameritrade and that restored streaming quotes. However, when I switched back IB quotes again stopped for the above symbols.

  4. I tried adding MT as an exception in Avast, and it didn't make a difference. I also shut my antivirus off for a few minutes, and it didn't help.

I minimized all MT windows, and that brought the CPU load from MT quickly down from about 80% to less than 5%. Unfortunately, restoring the windows caused the CPU load to move back up.

  5. Occasionally MT uses a lot of CPU on my computer. It comes and goes - I haven't figured out what brings it on or when it leaves. It is not related to busy times in the market. Currently (10:15 AM PST on a Tuesday), Medved Trader is using about 85% of my laptop's CPU. Normally it uses about 10 or 15% or so.

I don't know where to find the version I'm running currently, but it is the latest one I was prompted to download (a day or two ago, I believe).
