  1. I agree , no need for a Template.

What is the difference between  " User set it explicity " and  the "auto"?

Does it save the last configuration, If the "User set it explicitly" first time?

Which one does save the last configuration?

  2. When I open a level II window for a new symbol,  I have to customize it as per my need every time I open a new level II.

Would you make it remember the last configuration or make a provision for a Template?

  3.  Did the defaulting not work OK for you?

Default timeframe - yes, that could be one item, though I'm thinking - will someone who has not used MT Yet know the relevance of the Default Timeframe?

I don't really know.  But for the heck of it, I tested with different Time zone, but the culture didn't change with it... For example, I chose Japan, but the culture still US English.  I don't know it would change with their PC settings..

Regarding Timeframe, If they are using different Exchanges than US, then they have to change it, don't they?

  4. I have a comment.

Try to limit the Keyboard Shortcuts as the main operatives . . .   DOS age has gone . . .  Can't or want to memorize all the shortcuts anyway.

I am going to say something in a pragmatic way, but you may laugh reading  this.

This is a software for stock market traders.   Please be aware of the end user’s psychology.  The behavior of most traders is not like an active Programmer or a Journalist or an Engineer who often sit upright and use their both hands flying around on a Keyboard .

Most stock traders sit on an inclined chair, leaning backward and watching multiple graphs or portfolios. They are waiting to buy or sell stocks at a point.  Naturally, they lean backward on their easy cushioned chair sipping beer or whatever with only one hand on the desk with a mouse to click.

It is a punishment for them to lean forward to use their both hands to hit on the Keyboard for a simple task than a right clicking menu.

  5. I assume that people from other coutries will be using this Software as well.

    So, Start with

    • Select your Time Zone and your Culture
    • Select your Data Sources
    • Select your Time Frame

That will set anyone going in the right track to run it.  Then all other configurations are according to one’s taste.

  6. I don't know how to explain this problem, but I try . . .

Every time I relaunch the MT, the font size of the entries in the level II window changes to a bigger size.

So, I go to View and click on that down arrow. Then the font size becomes smaller than I wanted, that is two notches down though I clicked only once. Then I have to click on the upper arrow to make it bigger. At that point I get the correct size that I wanted . . .   There is no font size number to quote here . . .

So to make it clear, arbitrarily say, I set the font size at 12,   When I close the MT and relaunch it, the font in the level II changes to 14.  When I click on the down arrow, it goes down to 10. Then I click on the Upper arrow, it comes to 12, where I wanted . . .

    I hope it is clear . . .

    I have a suggestion.

Is it possible to make a font size counter like that "Agg.Rows" counter shown on the right side?

    like this >>>  Font 

  7. OK, few reasonable combination to select from the list is fine.

For me only reasonable information is the Graph Period,  Frequency and Change in price display in the title bar.

Some of other information is redundant in the Graph itself.  For example, Symbol is displayed by Watermark, Volume is shown in the bottom Indicator, so on. . .

  8. Ha, I actually wanted to see the "Change in Price" on that Title bar.    I have been waiting to demand that after clearing some problems with that Ribbon.    Right now, mine doesn't work since I am using Classic view.

And I support your idea of customization, so that no fights what to show there.

Right now, that display of Bid and Ask on the graph is useless, in my opinion.

  9. yes, but using the word "Chart" for that would be way way too confusing.

QuoteGrid was actually just an internal name I happened to be using, so it stuck

You had to make up a word for it, because the real word, "Chart"  is misused by other people in the Wallstreet,   So, when the real word is gone, you scrambled for a word to call it.  That is why you made up a compound word “Quote Grid”.

I can see the other gentleman also scrambling for a name like, " Portfolio Record, Portfolio Sheet, Portfolio Matrix", so on.

I can see everybody is struggling for a name for the real charts because it is misused by others.

In your software, if you use correct word Graph for graphs, Chart for anything with tabular columns for data entry,  you can name those windows as Portfolio Chart and  Watchlist Chart.  There will be no confusion.

If anybody is confused, then let them learn it correct way from you.

  10. ............Was wondering what it was called. I was thinking maybe, Portfolio Record, Portfolio Sheet, Portfolio Matrix, I wan't sure. Quote grid perfect! Learned a double on that question.

That "Grid" is not the correct word. A Grid is simply parallel lines crossing each other forming squares or rectangles.

This is called Chart.  A Chart is made of rows and columns to tabulate data.   In the Wallstreet,  some ignorant  traders started to use the wrong word, "Chart" for Graphs and everybody is repeating that mistake.

The correct word for that window is Portfolio Chart, where it is tabulating the data.

  11. No.

In a 12,26,9 setting, the MACD value will be 12-day EMA- 26-day EMA.  That is the main line.  The second line is the signal line which is the 9-day EMA of the main line. The value of MACD is displayed from the result of (12EMA-26EMA).

Those displayed lines are correct, need to show the value.

The Histogram is plotting from the result of  MACD value - the value of signal line. That is what is displaying now.
