  1. 1. Created a simple paint bar (ADXR over Trail) and added to upper chart.  Would not display selecting different bands to display in.  Also adding the paint bar indicator caused the linkage to be removed between two indicators in the Chart Indicator Selection Panel.  Re-linked the indicators for correct display then exited and re-stated MT - indicator showed.

    2. Created second paint bar (RSI > 50) using else statement and indicator showed immediately.  But selected wrong second  shape so edited but would not show changed on the paint bar after save.  Exited MT and re-start and the correct (edited) shape displayed.  Also, same indicator linkage removed when paint bar was added

    3. When initially adding the paint bar to the indicator panel the foreground / background selection is not displayed in the Parameters panel.  Subsequent edits show the foreground / background selection.

Over all impression is that it looks really good!

  2. Yes and How?

I read the help file and it indicates a Manage Chart Paintbars selection is in the Settings tab of the Dashboard but I don't have one (rev: 1.1.1271.2050) and that I should get to a Paintbar List Manager but can only find the Paintbar Editor using the Manage Paintbars Tile in the Dashboard.

  3. Create a new portfolio and populate it with the indices' symbols

In the ribbon select the View tab, then Display and select  TILE - Index

On the same View Tab uncheck Show Status Bar

    Hide the ribbon

Reduce the height of the window by dragging the bottom border up to the bottom of the tiles

Increase/decrease the width of the window so tiles are in a single row or as you wish

Place the new window directly above your portfolio window and it is very similar in appearance to QT if you size it to the same width as your portfolio

Double click on a tile to open a chart of that index

You can also make the window tall and narrow (the width of the tiles) and then place it along the edge of the monitor

It's really very versatile with several Tile types to choose from

(I'd attach a screen shot but don't have that figured out yet)

  4. Not sure if Bug or Feature Request!

I'm linking two indicators with dissimilar scales, Schaff (0 to 100) / ADXR (variable -50 to 50), and MT is assigning both indicators' scales to the right side Y Axis.  Can the MT indicator Y Axis assignment logic be adjusted such that indicators which oscillate between Negative and Positive values not share the same Y Axis as indicators that scale (0 to 100) or (0 to -100).

Optionally, allow the user to assign/force an indicator to place and use it's scale on the left side Y Axis.

    Thanks for looking into this.

  5. Just now noticed this, I have a couple of charts for indices set at Type: Line Tick, Period: 20 minute, Frequency: 0.2  and the X Axis time Scale and Vertical Grid Lines are not displayed.  Period at 22 they display, 21 or less not displayed.  Same also for Stock Symbols.  Tried Types: Line, Candle, OHLC and they also do not display the X Axis and Vertical Grid Lines.  A little further checking indicates that this happens if the Frequency is set to 0.5 or less.

  6. Settings file sent.

Raw data: recent lines not filtered, about 50 or so, then the balance are mostly filtered, although intermixed are lines that are not struck thru.  Would account for the scattered data points on the chart.

Sources:  Remained stable, L1 did not change but bandwidth moved around then stable.  Opened and closed $TICKQ and $TRINQ charts several times, L1 not changed.

  7. Jerry,

I'm getting some strange behavior with a couple of indices.  I have a portfolio setup that contains just indices ($DJI, $SPX.X, $COMPX, $NDX.X, $TRINQ and $TICKQ) that have been setup to display as Tiles.  I use TD Ameritrade data feed and am able to backfill all except $TRINQ and $TICKQ, but that maybe a function of the data feed.  If I click on the $TRINQ tile a chart opens and displays the data that has accumulated thru out the day.  If I do the same for $TICKQ only a few recent bars display correctly and the accumulated data is gone, although if the chart is scrolled some random points/bars display but the data appears to be corrupted.

I then added 2 "Compare Symbol" indicators to the lower or separate chart panel of an open chart and added $TRINQ and $TICKQ as Stock Symbols.  The Compare Symbol edit window offers up both Symbol and Index fields as in QT but the Index field is non-functional and the drop down selection list is not populated as in QT.

Both compare symbols will accumulated and display values over time.  If I click the tile and open a chart for $TICKQ again only the most recent few bars display while the compare chart continues to show all of the accumulated data, however the data stops accumulating, the line stops displaying any new data.  When the chart opened from the tile is closed the compare symbol line will begin to update again but a gap exists in the line for the period of time that the tile chart was open.  BUT, shortly after closing the tile chart the compare chart flat lines and all accumulated data is gone and then it begins to display/update and starts to accumulate data again.  The $TRINQ does not have this behavior and continues to display the accumulated data correctly in both the Tile activated chart and the compare symbol chart.

  8. Jerry,

Thru release 1.0.9324.0113 I've been able to pin the trade ticket window to the portfolio window and then click on the symbol in the portfolio window to populate the trade ticket with the symbol and quantity specified in the portfolio window.  That functionality appears to be gone from release 1.0.9545.0332, or am I missing a new setting somewhere?

    Thanks.

  9. Mike,  I think the reference to (5.3) etc. is found in chapter 6, The Triads, where he is proposing a numeric sequence replacement of the Fibonacci numbers but then the balance of the numbers in the equation don't seem to fit.  Within the equation itself I think he is indicating that two values for each %K are calculated and combined (should be (5,3) maybe) but it's not very clear.  I was thinking that with your experience writing indicators you might be able to sort it out, as confusing as it is.  Maybe this is one that should be dropped.

As for the Schaff Trend Cycle, I have not seen that one before but it looks interesting as a leading indicator.  Based upon what I've just read about it's workings, yes, I think that it would be a useful indicator.  If you can add it to the indicator collection that would be great.

    Thanks for your consideration.
