  1. I've seen timeframe linking elsewhere, and feel its helpful for those who have large #s of charts as a watchlist.  It's just like symbol linking, except when you change the timeframe in a chart in a linked group, say from a 1min to a 5min, all the linked charts switch to 5min.

Also, having more than 8 possible link connections would be a bonus as well.  If you need ideas I can find some pretty trendy colors   :)

  2. Not sure how popular this would be, or how easy to implement.  I've seen it before where there's an option to filter out no-tick bars in charts.  For example, equities traders might want to see pre/post market trading, though often the trades are few and far between.  This creates lots of empty space on the chart.

With filtering out no tick/trade bars, if there was a trade at say 16:45 and another at 16:55, then on a 1 minute chart the 16:45 and 16:55 bars would be right next to eachother, eliminating the 14 minutes of empty space.

Having this would allow equities traders to get a better visual of pre/post market trading on their charts.

  3. I've posted screenshot of the stock COH, using an IB level 2, the MT level 2, and IB DOM.  IB level2/dom are the same naturally, but it seems the MT level 2 isn't showing all the available depth.

The options in MT for subscribing to level 2 data are Nasdaq totalview and NYSE openbook, but perhaps its missing exchanges such as Edge, bats, etc?

note:  for some reason I couldn't attach an image to this post so I uploaded it into a gallery.

  4. One thing I've noticed that IB is missing, that trading platforms such as Sterling, Lilghtspeed etc have, is a good system of hotkeys for equities traders.  IB lets you create hotkeys for fixed share sizes, but what the main trading platforms also have are hotkeys where you can toggle the order size from the keyboard.  For example, loading up a symbol, pressing say #5 on the number pad for 500 shares, then pressing a hotkey to fire off an order for that size.

I'm not sure if trading hotkeys from a level 2 window are on deck for MT.  But having such capability would be helpful for equities traders using IB, who flip through many symbols throughout the day, trade varying share sizes, and want to place/cancel orders quickly.
