BorisT
Hello, just set up medved linking to TD, what I am finding is that the backfill all/hist BF all is inconsistent in terms of actually pulling data (have not established a pattern yet) vs right clicking on a symbol and hitting backfill always works, am I missing how those buttons are supposed to behave? thanks
Jerry Medved
MT has 2 different backfill modes. Auto and Manual If the symbol has no existing data in MT, they are the same. If the symbol has data in MT, then: Manual - always requests full backfill for as much data as it can get from the given source. AUTO - requests data only from the last time the data was backfilled - MT tracks it. What could have happened is that you had some other source selected for backfill and it tried to get backfill and got nothing. But that records the date/time so next time auto backfill will only request from that time. Backfill All always does AUTO backfill. Same as when you open a chart and it automatically backfills (assuming you have that on) Try this - on dashboard - clear all Historical data. Then try again. Should work . BorisT
will give that a shot, is there any way to simulate that programmatically (without scripting pushing buttons obviously) I'm re-using a bunch of API scripts I had from QT, thanks
Jerry Medved
the HTTP API doesn't support active datafeed interaction but you could open a single historical chart. Link it. then use the API to changed the linked symbol for that color group ever second or so. when the chart changes to the linked symbol, it will trigger backfill
