Should I be using a OCO (Order Cancel Order)?
-
I use MedVed Trader with TDA and I have a question. I trade mainly options and have issues placing a STOP LOSS on an open Trade.
When i open the Option I open a chart for the strike price i entered. I cannot figure out what the right order type is to set the stop loss.
Thanks for the help in advanced.

Having some trouble coding a scanner for the Histogram of the MACD.
Pseudocode:
If MACD Historgram is Green signal Bullish
If MACD HISTORGRAM is RED signal Bearish.
"Z"

AHh ok.. Is there a datafeed you support that i can use to get the dollar index?
-
Trying to add the Dollar index in MedVed .
TDA symbol is $DXY but this doesn't work in MedVed Trader.
-
yea i got that thanks.. I actually found in the help files the symbol formats..
Thanks again.

NVM I think GOLD Isn't traded in Forex on TDA.
-
I meant to say MedVed does not load the chart for EUR/USD.

Hi,
I see back in 2017 there was an update to incorporate the data feed for Forex with TD Ameritrade. However when i try to bring up a chart with TDA the symbol doesn't load.
Example in TOS the symbol is EUR/USD which does load in MedVed Trader.

Okay, is this something that could be enhanced?
Would be nice if i could run one scan and specify a tf / frequency to check conditions.
-
I have been writing my own scanner and have a few questions.
Main bias is based on 5 /8/ 13 ema on 5 or 15 min time frame where the scanner is running. However, what I want is to look at the 1 hour chart to find the direction based on two emas stacked in a direction.
I dont know if the logic of the scanner can perform the validations because the scanner is running on the 15m TF but I need it to validate the 1 hour.
Example:
Scanner Runs on 15 tf
Logic:
IF Timeframe 60 min 50 EMA > 62 EMA then Bullish Tend
{
Do other logic here
}

order types are really dependent on the broker. Brokers document their order types. MT just supports whatever the broker has.
Ok I will look at TD Ameritrade to find what i should use then?

Is there a help topic that explains the different types of orders?
I want to start placing a Stop Loss and Take Profit. I am just trying to understand the different types available.
Thanks,

any help greatly appreciated.

I know the platform has the ability to filter out spikes in premarket / postmarket feeds. What is some settings to try to filter these out?
Looking for suggestions.

@Mike Medvedwhen i press F1 for the help section while having the chart focus we could add a link to Change Chart's Symbol.
Thanks for your help guys!

HOLY CRAP!!! I am not a tard i swear!
Im a programmer and i feel really dumb right now.

I dont see a way to type a new symbol on a chart.. I know there was a way in qtquotes but i dont see it on the chart. Is there a how too guide?
-
Root Symbol which is on the Option Chain would be cool to have on the Intraday Char.
I think i will use the LEVEL 2 as my starting point but it would be nice to have this as an option on the Chart to just enter a symbol and bring up the data..

There are times that i don't have time to add a Symbol to a watch list. Is there a way to have a black chart for quick quotes? Chart would already have your preferred template, just enter symbol and quickly look at the chart to decide if u want to trade it. Options on right click add to watch list -> select watch list save.

Hi is TradeStation supported?
I didn't see them on the Datafeeds list.
-
Ok i will take note the next option i am in.
Thanks for your time.

Quotes are running fine in the Watch List if that is what you are asking.
Alternate Quote Source is NONE currently.
Today the Profits on the Position tab in Account View were running a lot better. Maybe it is a TDA issue?
Should I contact TDA?
