  1. I was checking out the ADXR Indicator, changing the values, and noticed that changes to the Trail Period do not have any impact on the indicator displayed. Actually, not sure what the trail period is referring to. Dave
  2. Jerry, Thanks. Apparently a Memory Bug!
  3. Bug, have I lost my mind or located else where? Went to save layout under Portfolio/File/Save Layout and no option to create or save using a new name. All prior saved layouts are displayed and can save to those but cannot save to a new one. Please tell me (in this case) that my mind is still intact!
  4. Thank you for looking at this. The arrows in the QT Indices panel provide a quick visual clue of direction.
  5. Jerry, Have been using the Index tiles and they work as a great replacement for the QT indices panel. However, the direction arrow shown in the in the View / Display / Tile selection panel is not being displayed in the active tiles. Is there a optional display setting to turn the arrows On/Off? I'm not sure where to look. Thanks
  6. Thanks for the explanation, it all makes sense. Double click on the Last column works like a charm and fills out the trade ticket with the quantity in the portfolio quantity column - Thanks for this!
  7. I'm confused as to the Qty functionality in a trade ticket. Release notes for Build 1.0.7378.1742: ADDED - TRADING - PORTFOLIO QTY - added an option to take PORTFOLIO QTY into account for defaulting. I added a Quantity column to my portfolio and populated it with quantities for each symbol (each symbol has a different qty). I then went to Settings/Trading/Accounts/Quantity tab and selected Use Portfolio Position and Deselected Use Account Position. Under Settings/Trading/General - Do not use default QTY on the trade ticket is deselected (what is the default qty and where would that be found?). Open a trade ticket and pinned to the portfolio (as an aside, have to re-pin the trade ticket window to the portfolio each time I open it - not saved when closed. Is that by design or a flaw?) When I select a symbol in the portfolio the symbol is populated in the trade ticket but the qty associated to the symbol in the portfolio qty column is not. If I'm understanding the option correctly, that the value in the portfolio quantity column should be used in the trade ticket, how can I get that to work? I like the idea of being able to associate qty's to symbols and use those automatically in a trade ticket. Using build: 1.0.7449.1151 Thanks
  8. In creating a Security PIN, if I enter a 4 character (letters, number, mix, same result) then Re-enter PIN and complete the process, the asterisks in the Security PIN field are padded with 3 additional asterisks. The PIN in the Re-enter PIN field is not changed.
  9. Mike, I can understand your concern as I've seen and used programs where the available options can be overwhelming. I think that vrtrader64 (thank you) offers a possible solution for that problem. Currently within the MT Settings panel, Charts /General, several Indicator options are offered. Maybe an option to "Allow Indicator Axis Adjustment" could be added that when selected would make the "fixed range high/low" parameter visible in the Indicator Parameters Panel.
  10. Mike, Thank you for making the necessary fixes, I look forward to checking them out in the upcoming new release. I understand that some indicators, by their nature, operate within a predefined range (Fixed) while others do not have a predefined range (Dynamic). When linking and comparing two such indicators their relative position to each other becomes skewed as the dynamic axis adjusts itself. I am currently using such a pair of indicators that are giving me some great entry points and in the occasional instance when the center points of the axes line up the relationship and cross over points of the indicators is easy to discern but as the dynamic indicator adjusts that relationship becomes more difficult to visualize. From your description of how the axes are applied in the indicator charts I can understand how it would be problematical to use the same functionality as in the pricing charts to define the characteristics of the indicator Y Axes. However, I'd still like to explore the possibility of being able to establish a stable relationship between Fixed and Dynamic indicators. Would it be possible that within the Indicator Parameters Panel, for Dynamic Indicators and as an Optional setting, to define the upper and lower values to be displayed or to constrain the Y Axis. If the Indicator value exceeded these constrains then it would run off the chart similar to what occurs on the price chart when the prices exceed a constrained Y axis. This could be in the form of two values defining the limits or as a single parameter that would define the upper and lower limit away from the zero point on the axis (All Dynamic Indicators that I've worked with so far generate positive and negative values around a zero point. If this is not a correct assumption then the single parameter idea will not work for all cases). Thanks again for considering this and your prompt attention to the fixes.
  11. Thanks for the reply: StochRSI + Williams %R ProGo + RSI RSI + Medved Oscillator The following first set overlays, second reorder splits the axes: RSI + MACD MACD + RSI SlowStoch + MACD MACD + SlowStoch
  12. I use and rely on indicators quite heavily and both QT and MT do a great job of offering a wide breathe of indicators to choose from and for displaying them. What I find very useful is linking indicators so that the relationship between them is easier to see then in separate charts. MT (and QT) makes a very good attempt at assigning left and right Y axes for linked indicators. At times MT will overlay two axes on one side of the chart while the other side is unused. In some of these cases I've discovered that by reordering the linkage of the indicators the axes will be applied to both the left and right side of the chart. This works in some cases and not in others. MT does a excellent job of dynamically changing the axis to maximize the display for some indicators such as oscillators, but at times a gap open can enlarge the axis so much that as the indicator "settles down" it is difficult to see the movements. Related to this is that some indicators use this dynamic scaling while others use a fixed scale which when linked makes the relationship difficult to determine. For example ProGo linked to FullStoch. The center (or "zero") line for FullStoch remains stable at 50 but the center line for ProGo changes in relationship as the axis dynamically adjusts itself. Having said this I would ask if the following features could be considered: 1. The ability to assign linked indicators to use the right or left side of the chart to display their Y axis. In some cases multiple indicators maybe assigned to share the same axis while another linked indicator maybe using its axis on the opposite side of the chart. 2. Similar to the top pricing charts, ability to set, individually, a Y axis in the lower charts as dynamic or with absolute values. This should allow setting a stable center line and address the gap open spike while still allowing for dynamic scaling when desired. Thank you considering these requests to an already great piece of software.

    Happy Holidays

Jerry, Mike, Staff and Families, Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year! Thank you for your support, all that you have done and are doing. Best Wishes.
  14. Thanks Jerry. Maybe a future enhancement............
  15. Is it possible, and if so where, to change the font size of the data displayed in the Level I Panel that is contained within the Level II Window?
  16. Build: 1.0.3349.1456 If you select a custom chart period and set the Last/Time value to 1 day or greater and the minute value to 1 minute or greater the period displayed in the windows caption will be a comma and the minute value "(, 1 min)". Set the minute value to 0 and the days value displays correctly.
  17. Build: 1.0.3254.2044 Stumbled upon this just now. Opened the Edit Portfolio window from the Portfolio ribbon and selected the Add drop down list and except for the drop down list the Edit Portfolio window disappeared! After playing around with it discovered that the Edit Portfolio window is going to the background if it is sitting on top of another MT window such as a chart or the dashboard. However, it will not go to background if sitting on top of the Portfolio window. This all started because I was looking for a way to remove or hide the TOTAL Line from the portfolio as I don't use it - is this possible and how?
  18. To re-create this error you need a live data feed, candlestick or line chart with TTM squeeze added. Set the chart to a low tick count (5 per candle should do it or a few second increment on the minute chart - this allows the error to show up more quickly). Allow the chart to run and accumulate price action. The TTM momentum (histogram?) will show little to no action as the chart advances. Now open the the "add/edit indicators" and click either the OK or Apply button. The TTM will re-paint and the momentum will expand above and below the zero line for the latest prices. As new prices are added the error will again begin to accumulate from the last re-paint.
  19. Build: 1.0.2053.2256 If I go to Settings - Application / General and then modify the Prices Format from "#,##0.00##" to "#,##0.00", click Reset Formats and then select Apply the new format is correctly displayed. Close and re-start MT, the Prices Format is back to "#,##0.00##".
  20. Don't mean to hijack here, but is this similar to my post on Feb 14th, "Chart Indicator Selection Window"? I still am experiencing this behavior and it sounds like flightdeck may be describing the same thing.
  21. Scrolling charts with the mouse wheel or bottom slider has become erratic. Checked task manager, CPU usage on 4 cores and 4 hyper threads higher then I've ever seen.
  22. Build: 1.0.1919.2227 I'm partially to blame for this error. While testing I've created numerous chart templates that are no longer needed. Sometime in the past I looked for template management in MT similar to QT but was unable to locate one. I then went to the directory and deleted the templates that were not needed. I checked the Open / Save Template functions and only the saved (one's I did not delete) templates are displayed. Today I opened the New Chart Drop-Down and both the deleted and saved templates are in the selection list. When I select one of the deleted templates the following error is displayed. https://www.dropbox.com/s/5tjq6jjd3x97fln/Template%20error.PNG I did not test this in prior releases so do not know if this was existing or something new.

    Image Posting

I can't figure out how to place an image in a post. I screen captured using Win 7 Snipping tool and have saved in different formats: PNG, JPG, GIF and MHT. I can drag and drop the image into the message that I'm creating and see it but when I try to preview or post the new topic I get this error: You are not allowed to use that image extension on this community. Can someone point me in the right direction?
  25. Build: 1.0.1919.2227 If the Chart Indicator Selection window is opened and the number of Selected Indicators in the right panel is more then can be displayed (right side scroll bar is visible) the edit icons for the indicators are not visible. Re-size the window ever so slightly in any direction and the icons appear and are functional. Closing the window with the right side scroll bar still visible and then re-opening, the same condition repeats. Re-size the window so that all of the Selected Indicators are visible and the right side scroll bar is removed, then close the window (Ok or Apply) re-open the window (all Selected Indicators visible and the right side scroll bar not visible) and the edit icons are now visible. Hope that was clear enough to follow. I do not recall this happening in the prior release.
