  1. Thanks Jerry.

    I've now excluded MT folders from windows security scans, but the problem persists.

    Have tried to run MT in various windows compatibility modes, also doesn't work.

    Neither has shutting down, rebooting, nor updating MT.

    Went to do a system restore, but it tells me just about everything installed post the 8.1 install will disappear, including MT, so I am loathe to do that.

  2. MT worked fine on my HP desktop with Windows Vista.

    On Sunday I upgraded to Windows 8.1, a clean installation, and installed MT from a backup.

    Everything worked yesterday after all that happened.

    Today, Windows downloaded 37 updates, and now MT takes 2 minutes to load, then comes up with an error window "Registered Window Count doesn't match layout window count".

    If I click ignore, and proceed to open charts, they take forever to open or close, and MT is generally slow to respond.

  3. Thanks Jerry, will re-send.

    Yes, I had Yahoo news ticked, now unticked.

    Yahoo and Google now both show as idle in the data sources, with Commsec showing as streaming--but of course it isn't.

    Have just emailed you  the log file and the commsec settings.

    Thanks again, Inspired

  4. Hi Jerry,

    Have done the update, but Commsec is still not working.

    Also, on the dashboard, under data sources,  both Commsec and Yahoo are shown as streaming. Yahoo bandwidth updates every second, but Commsec does not.

    Should they both be streaming if I have Commsec as the source -(even though Commsec is not working)?

    Regards

    Inspired

  5. I don't know if I have ticked all the right boxes, but Commsec does not appear to work.

    I have configured the account with my login and password (settings/configure accounts/ highlight commsec)

    Support funcionality/Level 1  ticked/  level 2 ticked

    On my watchlist  screen, however, although Commsec is in the source, nothing updates.

    If I switch the source to Yahoo, the stocks start updating.

    If I swicth back to Commsec, the stocks stop updating, but at the dashboard,  the data source has both Yahoo and Commsec as streaming, although only the Yahoo bandwidth keeps updating.....but the stock prices don't.

    With Commsec chosen as the data source, on the dashboard I get:

     ID=Yahoo. State=streaming. Status=running. Bwth=(keeps updating). L1, L2, BF,H.BF all empty

     ID= Google, state=idle, status=running, bwdth=0 all other boxes empty

     ID=  Commsec, state=streaming  Status=running, Bwdth=(usually 6,223 but doesn't update like Yahoo above it does)

             L1=25, all other boxes empty.

    With Yahoo chosen as the source, on the DASHBOARD I get:

    ID: Yahoo. State=streaming. Status = running, Bwth (updates) L1-25 other boxes empty apart from NWS=25

          Google and Commsec are idle, no bandwidth, no other boxes  filled.

    Hope this makes sense.

    Regards

  6. Hi Jerry,

    I'm back to having candles for recent days disappearing from charts of my Australian stocks.

    Tried backfilling with yahoo, google, clearing data and reloading but to no avail.

    The problem is not uniform across my watchlist, with some stocks missing one or two candles, others a whole week's worth or more.

    For example, CBA:ASX has candles for Feb 3,4, and 7. Missing Feb 5,6.

    BHP:ASX has Jan 30, then nothing until today, Feb 7.

    FMG:ASX has Jan 24,  then nothing until today, Feb 7.

    Candles will be there today, but disappear tomorrow.

    Regards

    PS: no more error pop-ups now for several days.

  7. With respect to Australian stocks, I find that both suffixes work.

    The example in this thread, for  example, BBG:ASX  and BBG.AX.  Both show idenfitical charts and the volume bars are there too. with Yahoo as the source.

    However, Yahoo, while free, is notoriously inaccurate with data, either totally wrong for given days, or missing days.

    Hopefully we will get undelayed  Australian feeds from Comsec (Commonwealth Securities), National Australia Bank,  and delayed from the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX).

  8. I'm not sue I have them right, but Yahoo finance indices for USA aren't recognized.

    For the Standard and Poors 500, I've tried $SPX, ^SPX, ^GSPC,  but no go.

    For the Dow Jones Industrial Average tried  ^DJI, $INDU, .INDU, ^INDU

    Regards

  9. Thanks for the response.

    Yes, the number 23 is in the general settings  in dates. I have reset the formats, so in the general settings  for dates there is the letter d, for date/time  the letter g, and short time t.  Is that correct?

    As a result, historic data is now correct (apart from the January 1 problem) and raw data  is correct at 31/12/13 until 15:59:00. Then it starts at tomorrow's date 01/01/14, from time 13:43:00  until closing time 14:10:00.

    Default opening hours are 10 am to 4 pm, but today was a shortened day, so may have thrown the rat data times out?

  10. Hi Jerry,

    Still having issues with the wrong date candles. This seems to happen randomly, some days the candle shows the correct date,  but on others, like today, December 31, today's candle on any of the stocks shows as tomorrow---January 1, 2014.  (that would be great prescient trading if only it were possible!)

    I have Australian equities chosen, with Yahoo as the source, and Canberra/Melbourne/Sydney as the time zone.

    Clearing the data and backfilling  only brings up the same January 1 date.

    In raw data,  for say, BHP  (BHP:ASX) the first column, Dt (presumably date) every row is 23.

    For historical data, each column  is 23 as well.

  11. Symbol: BHP.ASX

    exchange  = Australia equities

    data source = yahoo

    timeframe historic = 1 day

    peultimate candle December 16

    last December 24

    symbol: CBA.asx

    same as above

    candles:

    penultimate dec 19,

    last december 22

    NAB.asx

    same as for bhp

    candles:

    penultimate: Dec 16

    last  dec 23

    Intraday for BHP

    frequency 1 minute

    candles for Friday Dec 20,  then Monday Dec 23 all day

    then Tuesday Dec 24 from, 1500 to 1600.

  12. For some Australian stocks, here in Australia, I have yahoo backfilled candles to Dec 16, then nothing till---tomorrow, the 24th, which presumably should be today.

    Intraday chart also is spreading itself into tomorrow, Tuesday.

    Also, any ability to save a snapshot gif or jpeg?
