Shortcut key to add an alert when on a chart adds the incorrect symbol

When I hit the shortcut key to add an alert when I am on a chart it pops up the alert editor with $TICK in the symbol field instead of the symbol that is in the chart.  If I right click on the chart and click on "Add Alerts for ..." it then opens the editor with the correct symbol.

After restarting a few times it seems to be working
