stephane
Hi, Is there any documentation for MT API ? I dont know what can be done with it, looking to a way to interact with MT from an external program. Regards, Stephane
Jerry Medved
https://medvedtrader.com/api NOTE: this is basically the same API as QT - just there for backward compatibility. Request/Response only. We do plan to add a better API in the future, but for now this is it.
stephane
Thanks Jerry that is good for me. I d also like to know if there is a way to send a symbol to a MT window (other than portfolio, a chart or DOM) When I tried with Trade Ideas, I see it quickly opens an input box and add the symbol to it. It doesnt work very well, but i m curious to know how I could send a symbol to a chart from an extern application ?
Jerry Medved
TI stuff needs a text box to type stuff into. Chars do not have it (DOM Does). What you can do is open a DOM, RAW DATA and Chart and link them together (symbol link stuff in the caption - looks like a pin. Select one with the same color on all 3). Now set TI stuff to send the symbol to the DOM or RAW DATA window. That should cause all 3 windows to change to that symbol. Don't remember if TI can hit a URL. If so, you can hit the SetLinkedLymbol URL (doc here: https://www.medvedtrader.com/www/frontend/blog/HTTP-API#SetLinkedSymbol)
stephane
Ok I didnt see this one. It doesnt work good with TI often missing chars then opening the wrong symbol, but for what I want to do this is perfect. Thanks !
