I am still confused re when to close this down...

 

You have told me that its OK to keep it open overnight ( I do close the portfolio down every night)

 

HOWEVER

 

I note that if I do keep the dashboard open, I do not get update notifications

 

THUS

 

might you do something to notify us when we open a portfolio, or otherwise do some work within MT, that an update is available. If not, then I will indeed close the dashbd down each night

Automatic Updates Checking is done when you login to the App, which for most people is on startup. You can explicitly select to check updates using FILE / Help / Check Update.

overnite I close the portfolio, but keep the dashbd open/minimized

if the dashboard is up, the app is still running, so it doesn't login again, and thus the automatic checking for updates does not occur. Like I said, it only happens on startup. but you can check for updates manually.
