  1. Actually, false alarm! Sorry. It's working but the way the data was displayed in the chart made it appear as if it wasn't pulling all the data in. Not a lot of data points and had the chart stretched out horizontally.

Incidentally, is there any way I can reduce the spacing between candlesticks in a chart?

  2. I am trying to create a daily chart for a symbol using IB as the source. When I right click on the chart and select Historical charts for that symbol the chart comes up but it only shows data for 27 days. This remains the same regardless of the period I select with FREQ at 1 day. I've tried backfilling but I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong here.

    Thanks.

  3. Is there any way to tell MT to show specific colors for prices that are consecutively higher or lower? For example if there are say, 4 fill prices that are each lower than the last I would like the font color for those numbers to be red and green if they are consecutively higher prices. This would make it MUCH easier to identify momentum either up or down while watching time and sales data in a fast moving market. Actually it would help me gauge overall direction of momentum even in a slower moving stock. I've tried the color sets button but it provides only general window settings for the colors.

Thanks! Sorry for all the questions but I need to determine if it's possible for me to establish my setup with MT.

  4. 1. I've noticed that when I open a trade tick for a symbol the trade ticket quantity size is defaulted to 0 even though in the settings I've entered another value as a minimum size. The problem with that is that the quantity tabs on the trade ticket are linked to that initial starting value so they proceed as 1, 2, 3, 4, etc.. I've noticed that even if I manually set, say, 200 as the quantity and the quantity tabs change some of those tabs will show 250, 350, etc. as a size option even though I've selected to have the quantity round up to the nearest hundred in the settings. This is also true after I select the '250' tab. No rounding takes place.

    2. Is there any way at all to resize the trade ticket window? It's quite large. When I shrink the window down, none of the elements inside adapt and the buy and sell buttons for example are simply cut off.

    3. Is there any way restrict the quantity tabs to a specific range? Many, many quantity tabs are populated and they are very small. I often have to act very quickly when trading and it would help to avoid making a mistake and accidentally selecting the wrong tab.

    4. Is there any way the "1/2" size button could be configured to apply a user defined portion of the whole quantity? It would also be very useful to have more than one button option so that either half or 3/4 could be very quickly selected?

    Thanks!

  5. Is there any way at all to create a quick alert from a chart? I mean for simple alerting on when the price hits a specified target? The way I trade involves watching multiple stocks and quickly setting price action alerts to stay on top of changes so I need to be able to quickly set alerts and move to another chart. In my previous charting software I could click a button on a chart and then simply place an alert with crosshairs. If I placed it above the current trading price it would set the alert to trigger if the stock price moved up to that point and vice versa if I placed it below the current price. Once placed, the alert would show as a horizontal line across the chart that I could then drag up or down. Of course the alert trigger price would track with the price column on the right hand side y-axis. It's an extremely powerful and intuitive way to quickly place simple alerts. Is there anything similar that can be achieved in MT? If not I'd like to feature request this. I wouldn't think it would be too hard to implement as the alert would obviously be for that stock symbol the chart is using.

    Thanks.

  6. Hello, I'm brand new to Medved Trader but have been poking around with it for a bit trying to see how I can reduce the space used by the windows for my layout. When I open any window, for a chart, level II, etc. at the top of each window there is a quick access bar and below that there are tabs such as Main/View/Draw/Trading in a chart window. Is there any way to condense these options into a drop-down menu that can be expanded by clicking on an icon or label that lies in-line with the quick access buttons? If not, is there any other solution to reduce the space used by the windows? I am coming from IB and TWS and really need this space and as-is this extra line containing tabs is being duplicated across the entire window for every single window that I open.

If this isn't possible is there any way that I can integrate a chart from Medved Trader directly into a TWS layout? I think this is unlikely but the charts are terrible in TWS and if I can't find a way to retain the space I need in a MT layout then I'm looking for a way to combine just the charting functions of MT with the remainder of my TWS layout.

    Thank you for any help
