Specific keyboard is required. There are a lot of keyboard, especially gamer keyboards have real or virtual macro keys. They are programmable with a software packed with the keyboard.
If you trade frequently I recommend to get a keyboard with macro keys.Like this:
A while ago I found some software (multikeyboard macros by mediachance) that allows any keyboard to be connected in addition to the main keyboard and function as a macro keyboard. I don't use it much at moment but it worked well when I tried it out.

last completed - BarVolume[1]
I had already tried that:
if (BarVolume[1]>20000)
{
SetScanResult(4,BarVolume[1]);
SetScanResultColumnName(4,"BarVol");
return;
}
What do I need to change here?

I tried
But it doesn't work. What do I need to change?

Clicking on the chart and then having that price accessible in a hotkey would be a useful feature.

I meant .. moving the mouse in the 1m chart

Yes, and in fact I only recently started using synced crosshairs.

we don't have anything that impacts scrolling tied to SHIFT AFAIK. You said it does not happen every time - how often approximately? 50% of the time? I have not been able to recreate here
It was happening often - perhaps over 20% of clicks. The tick chart x scroll bar would turn red and then jump to an earlier time. I tried again towards the close of the evening aftermarket and there was no issue. There were very few transactions though so the situation wasn't the same as before. I will try again today.

I have open a 1m chart and a tick chart. I have the tick chart set up so that the new ticks appear in the same place at the right side of the chart. I do chart trading from the 1m chart (i.e. I only mouse click in the 1m chart and not the tick chart. If I press the shift key the tick chart will often jump to an earlier time - so that the current tick is not in view. How can I stop this?

Any ideas on why I don't get the full time range - is it TDA?
Ok, I found I had selected 2 days of data...

send me the log please
Go to FILE / HELP => Send Log/Settings to support menu (from Dashboard or Portfolio)
And add this Post’s URL in the comment.
Also, if you look in Account View window for the account, transactions tab, are the orders there and shown as still open?
Sent. The bracket orders are not open. The stop loss was hit and the limit order was cancelled. I also cancelled all open orders but that didn't remove the capsules from the chart. They are gone now - but they were visible for a long time (minutes perhaps).
-
The stop was hit and the trade closed but the two bracket orders remain visible on the chart. They are not active. Using TDA.
How can I stop this happening?

you have to have the actual data to show on the chart. Any quotes MT gets on portfolios & Charts are stored and used for charting. Also, most sources provide backfill and MT by default automatically backfills the chart when you open it. What quote source are you using?
TDA

On my 2m intraday chart there are options for different number of days, eg 2 days, 4 days, 10 days etc. For each one, if I zoom out, the maximum time period I get is less than 12 hours. How do I get the full time range?
-
Is there a way to use this to have a hotkey sell when candle closes below an ema (a type of trailing stop)?
-
Stop is pasted below. Have I put in the values correctly?
As it stands it seems there is a stop at the correct value - but the capsule is positioned near $0 which makes it very hard to see the candles.
-
Here is a screenshot below. Purchase price is 6.4 so the brackets are a long way from where they should be.
-
Yes, it is a hotkey:
-
I have a bracket order that works ok with dollar amounts. Eg stop is -0.2. If I change this to -1.5% then the order will appear but the value will be wrong (it will be much lower than 1.5% from the purchase price). What am I doing wrong?

ok I am confused. Do you have the chart option for " show entire day" set?
Yes. So I unclicked it and we are good. 🙂

you can change the chart to show a fixed # of bars. PERIOD dropdown on the chart toolbar. Or keyboard shortcuts. 5, 6 and 7 are for 50 bars, 100 bars and 200 bars respectively
If I display 100 bars the end time is 16:00 and no current bars are on the visible part of the chart. To get the current bar in view (unless we are near the end of the day) requires moving the bottom scroll bar. Isn't there a way to put in 100 bars and then have the current bar stay aligned in the far right position?
-
If I put PERIOD to 30 minutes the candle chart shows a time range of 15:30 to 16:00. This doesn't make much sense to me. It means I have to keep adjusting the bottom scroll bar. Why not make it automatically focus on on the current candle?
How can I set up the candle chart to show the last 150 candles (for example) and keep this in view on the chart without having to adjust anything. I have the tick chart doing this - but it is not obvious how to do it on a candle chart.
-
Yeah, I know. That's why I put it in the feature request section 😉
Can't connect to TDA

I haven't been able to connect MT to TDA since yesterday. I get an invalid username or password error message. I could connect ok 2 days ago and I haven't changed any MT settings since then. The same username and password can be used to log onto TDA's android app - so it seems they are still valid. Is there anything in MT that might be causing this issue?
