  1. This does not qualify as a bug, but is a bit annoying.

    1) I have "Always Show Trace" checked, so I expect the trace will show whenever the mouse is in a chart.

    2) When I move the mouse outside the chart, the trace disappears, leaving a "clean" chart to look at.

    3) Then if I change symbol (say I use the arrowkeys or mouse in the portfolio window), the trace comes back.

It would be nicer if trace shows only if the mouse cursor is in a chart window or a linked raw window has focus.

    Can this be done?

  2. Sometimes it is difficult to bring an MT window into view, esp the dashboard.

Example: with overlapping chart / dashboard windows (dashboard behind chart.)

Scenario 1) Click on edge of dashboard window; nothing happens (dashboard remains hidden)

Scenario 2) Click on chart; then click on edge of dashboard -> dashboard pops into view.

Scenario 2) cannot always be made to happen, so I frequently use the menu "Show Medved Trader Dashboard" to restore the dashboard into view.

I've also had difficulty with the portfolio windows (quotegrid) being difficult to bring into view.

  3. When selecting a new row in quote grid by mouse-clicking in columns other than symbol, MT does NOT correctly "select" new symbol. I.e. the row gets highlighted, but linked symbols do not work (no change to the selected symbol in charts or L2 or Raw window)

  4. Hi, would it be possible to add a control to pause/resume the auto-sort of Quote Grid without stopping the streaming quotes?

(When working with a large number of symbols that change in real time it is difficult to focus on what is happening with a particular symbol or group if things move around.)

    Thanks

  5. The latest version 2238.2055 seems snappier when using trace link between tick charts Raw data (not that earlier versions were slow, mind you).

But I'm noticing an asymmetry in the way trace link works:

I have "Always show trace" checked; I also have trace link between tick, 1min and historical charts and Raw window. This means there is a trace visible when the mouse is inside any chart pane.

So, if I move the mouse in a chart window, trace link causes a change in the selected line in the Raw window; however, if I use the keyboard arrows or PgUp/PgDn and change the selected line in the Raw data window, the cursor/trace does not move in the linked charts - it has in fact become invisible, perhaps due to giving focus to the Raw window? (The chart does scroll, if necessary)

Is this intentional? Should not the cursor be hovering on the currently selected data point when ""Always show trace" is chosen?

  6. First, thanks for all the great work you have done so far with MT.

I use Stockwatch data feed, which provides separate L1 quotes for each market centre (ATS).

Can MT show this instead of a single line for Bid/Ask, perhaps using a modified L2 window?

See below for what I mean:

This may not seem important for a highly-liquid stock like the one above, but for lower-liquidity names it is crucial to know where the bids and offers are situated, even within the first quote tier.

  7. You would run it in real time, not with historical data.

In fact there is a tool out there that works with IB and presents similar charts and even allows you to trade from them.

It is called BookMap and I will not link to it here, since it may be considered a competing product to MT.
