0 Mike Medved
David, when in the formula it says: %K(5.3) - what does it mean? Usually it is a %K of a period, but 5.3 isn't a period, since it is not an integer?
0 Mike Medved
To add: while looking around for Cycle, I found Schiff Trend Cycle indicator - http://www.alltrading.info/technical-analysis/44-indicators-technical-analysis/169-stc-schaff-trend-cycle- would that be useful? 0 DavidE
Mike, I think the reference to (5.3) etc. is found in chapter 6, The Triads, where he is proposing a numeric sequence replacement of the Fibonacci numbers but then the balance of the numbers in the equation don't seem to fit. Within the equation itself I think he is indicating that two values for each %K are calculated and combined (should be (5,3) maybe) but it's not very clear. I was thinking that with your experience writing indicators you might be able to sort it out, as confusing as it is. Maybe this is one that should be dropped. As for the Schaff Trend Cycle, I have not seen that one before but it looks interesting as a leading indicator. Based upon what I've just read about it's workings, yes, I think that it would be a useful indicator. If you can add it to the indicator collection that would be great. Thanks for your consideration.
