carawlins
Although the vast majority of TD Ameritrade quotes are updating, there are some in which the bid/ask and volume is updating but the "last" is not. Some examples are: OIL, PFG, SPY and IWM. Is anyone else noticing this? Thanks!
Jerry Medved
That is a TDA issue. There are 2 different datafeed options. If you have “Stream Tick Quotes” checked, it will have this issue this morning. If you uncheck it, the data for LAST will start streaming: I already notified TD Ameritrade about the problem today
carawlins
Of course, right after I posted the question, everything seems to be working OK now! Thanks, as always, for being on top of things! Edited September 26, 2016 by carawlins
carawlins
As a follow up to your reply, I guess when things are working normally at TD, the "Stream Tick Quotes" should be unchecked. Is this correct? Thanks!
Jerry Medved
Just now, carawlins said: As a follow up to your reply, I guess when things are working normally at TD, the "Stream Tick Quotes" should be unchecked. Is this correct? Thanks! that really depends on what you need. If not checked, then the data is "consolidated" - TD Will update the quotes upto about 3 times per second. With that option checked, there will be an update for every trade, so for some high volume symbols, not having it checked will cause data to be consolidated. For regular time based charts, it doesnt matter. For TICK chart type, it does.
carawlins
Thanks for the reply! It appears as though it was already checked, when I looked. Thanks also for the explanation. Take care!
mmoy
This is why my account indicated that I was down a massive amount this morning. Last must have been set to 0.
Jerry Medved
No, not likely. The quotes were not returning 0. They were just stuck at some earlier price
