Cloves2020
Hi, I am new to MedVed. My broker is Ally. I'll break down my questions/issues by number to make it easier to read 1. Today I have had on and off issues with setting a Sell Limit order on the chart. Multiple times I had a "failure" message. I had to go into ally in order to place my sell limit (I have the ally site open at the time watching my messaged for buys and sell). 2. Another issue I have is when I load a chart, I need to scroll in order to bring the chart into view. I have my chart setup with some padding (dynamic with padding since I want to see padding on the sides and top) not sure if that is the problem? Screenshot below: This is the message I have been getting in this case by the time I took the screen cap the price had dropped below my buy limit, but the same message has happened earlier with price way above. Jerry Medved
Error - that is coming from Ally. I tried here and it worked, so could have been something at the time. are you still getting the issue? I did have them check on the problem meanwhile. As for scrolling - you may have a bit too much space added on the X axis. move the mouse over the X Axis (where the time is shown) and click and drag left/right to adjust

Cloves2020
Is there any special setting that must be setup to trade during extended hours?
Jerry Medved
Ally Invest API does not support Extended hours. With everyone else, you can select DAY+Ext or GTC+Ext as Time In Force options.
Cloves2020
Jerry, I am mostly using MedVed for momentum trading, quick gap ups, lock profit, wait for pull back scenarios. This was very difficult to get done via ally as you can imagine. I had a few questions around that type of trading. 1. Can I set a "stop" before I actually buy into a stock? eg. I would like to set a stop of $1.72 on Stock X, I click "STP" for order type and then the "SELL" capsule and drop it into the chart. I would then pick "LMT" and click "BUY" and drop the capsule on the chart at $1.74. Then I would also drop a sell limit order above with my target profit. I set these all up in the attached image but have not clicked send. 2. Is there a way to set MedVed to use a certain cash value rather then share quantity by default? Say for example I want to always use $100. In the "account specific setting & defaults" I see "quantity/trans. Value $" I thought that might be the spot to put in my $100 value but doesn't seem to work when I place my buy button on the chart. I still see quantity. 3. In the DOM, are the columns not adjustable? #2 Example:
Jerry Medved
what you are describing is setting up OTOCA order (One Triggers One-Cancel-All) Leg1: Buy 500 SNES LIMIT @ 1.74 Leg2: Sell 500 SNES LIMIT @ 1.81 Leg3: Sell 500 SNES STOP @ 1.72 MT supports it for brokers that can handle conditional orders. Ally Cannot. TD Ameritrade and IB can DOM - you cannot move them around if that's what you mean. the functionality there is very specific to the columns being exactly where they are. you can hide some columns, like the volume
Cloves2020
Jerry you mentioned that Ally's api does not support extended hours, does that also mean that I cannot see the ticker and its extended hours price movement? I loaded my td america account and wanted to see if the extended hours movement showed up. Here is the odd thing, MSFT shows the afterhours movement while AAPL does not.
