One thing I've noticed that IB is missing, that trading platforms such as Sterling, Lilghtspeed etc have, is a good system of hotkeys for equities traders. IB lets you create hotkeys for fixed share sizes, but what the main trading platforms also have are hotkeys where you can toggle the order size from the keyboard. For example, loading up a symbol, pressing say #5 on the number pad for 500 shares, then pressing a hotkey to fire off an order for that size.
I'm not sure if trading hotkeys from a level 2 window are on deck for MT. But having such capability would be helpful for equities traders using IB, who flip through many symbols throughout the day, trade varying share sizes, and want to place/cancel orders quickly.
