carawlins
For some reason, when I attempted to open MT today, I was prompted to enter my username and P/W (I have it saved so it normally just opens without entering credentials). When I enter my login information, it is not recognized (I have not changed anything). Any idea why this is happening and how to correct it? Thanks! Jerry Medved
do not know why you got the prompt, but I see that this morning your login tries to send a different password than before. Please correct that. If you do not know your password, you can reset it at https://medvedtrader.com/forgotpassword
carawlins
Maybe I did change it and don't remember. Anyway, I did go through the P/W change routine and for some reason I am still unable to log in.
Jerry Medved
My log shows that you successfully logged in since then. All OK now?
carawlins
Yes, I did! That was really strange but all is working now. I don't know what happened. Thanks for your assistance!
carawlins
I guess I spoke too soon! I run MT on my laptop also and it is now doing the same thing as my desktop was doing. I put in my username and password and it indicates invalid. I already reset my password previously. Any ideas on how to proceed? Thanks! Jerry Medved
you changed the password. The laptop is still sending the password that was used before you changed. You would need to enter the password on the laptop that you changed your account to. That is all. Case sensitive.
carawlins
That's the thing. I am using the changed password on the laptop but I am getting a login failure.
Jerry Medved
that is not what I am seeing. The laptop is sending whatever password was used prior to today.
carawlins
Maybe I need to clear the cache or something because I am typing in the changed password.
Jerry Medved
ok, I see. you are entering correct password. But for some reason, instead of the email you are using your login from here (carawlins). Need to user your email address.
carawlins
OK, that did it. So I guess I should be using my e-mail address as my username rather than my screen name?
Jerry Medved
for logging into the program, yes. Login for here (the forum) is completely separate from the login into the program or our main website
carawlins
I think that is where I ran into a problem. I was using the same login info for the website and MT. Thanks again for all of your help!
