  1. Yup, month/day/year. Other dates in the portfolio are normal (today). TD Ameritrade.
  2. It's on intraday charts. I added Quote Date and Time and the Quote Date is 11/01/17 which definitely looks like the problem.
  3. I spoke too soon. I still have this problem but the tickers that it occurs on varies from day to day. This morning it's AAPL. I can see it updating in the quotes but no the chart.
  4. I had problems with charts not updating. I could see the prices change on the portfolio window but I had to hit ^B to get the prices to update. I'm happy to report that the latest version fixed that problem. I hadn't updated in a while so I don't know which version I was coming from.
  5. I run MT in a Windows 7 Virtual Machine as I had so many problems with font sizing and virtual memory problems with Windows 10. The nice thing about running in a Virtual Machine is that I can just copy the Virtual Machine to another computer when I upgrade. I actually don't have a choice on the VM though as I'm mainly running on Macs these days.
  6. I had this set up before where I'd get the whole day in the chart but, after the latest update (I think), it displays part of the day and I have to scroll to get the rest. Is there a way that I can get the old behavior?

I'm trading from home this afternoon and set up the latest version of MT on a system nearly identical to the one in the office. I only have 13 charts up but it's not showing the VM problems that the office system showed under Windows 10. I may give Windows 10 another shot at the office. I think that I can fix the large title bars problem by bringing in a higher resolution monitor.
  8. I'm working from home this afternoon so I don't have my MT settings here. I don't even have it installed but I'm doing that now. But I'll have to recreate the stuff that I have in the office from a picture. It would be nice to have the option to save settings in the cloud. I know that I can export them and import them but I don't work from home that often so it would be nice if I didn't have to think about it.
  9. I was going to write a post asking how to use it but I played around with a few things and found it. I can get rid of my home-grown version now. I need a monitor with higher resolution though. Running out of pixels to put things.
  10. Got a bunch of these this morning a few minutes into startup. It's quiet now.

I'm giving Windows 10 another try with a newer version on MT. Already I miss the taskbar sizing problems with W10 but I'll run it today with the Task Manager to see what the Virtual Memory looks like.
  12. I have had some problems with charts no updating at all though I guess that could be considered a performance degradation too. I'll give this one a try (it's in production now).
  13. Microsoft will finally bring Visual Studio, a "true mobile-first, cloud-first development tool for .NET and C#," to Mac later this month, the company has said. From a report on TechCrunch:The IDE is very similar to the one found on Windows. In fact, that is presumably the point. By making it easy for OS X users to switch back and forth between platforms, Microsoft is able to ensure coders can quickly become desktop agnostic or, barring that, give Windows a try again. From the release: "At its heart, Visual Studio for Mac is a macOS counterpart of the Windows version of Visual Studio. If you enjoy the Visual Studio development experience, but need or want to use macOS, you should feel right at home. Its UX is inspired by Visual Studio, yet designed to look and feel like a native citizen of macOS. And like Visual Studio for Windows, it's complemented by Visual Studio Code for times when you don't need a full IDE, but want a lightweight yet rich standalone source editor. https://apple.slashdot.org/story/16/11/14/1250212/microsoft-is-bringing-visual-studio-to-mac

Thanks. I guess I'll wait for the ribbon. The Tile View (without the charts) is good enough for now.

    Indices

I'm using the tile view for the indexes now while waiting for the index ribbon. While waiting, does someone have the Ameritrade ticker for the $RUT? Also, if I could get candlesticks in the tile view (any of them), then I wouldn't need the index ribbon. I'd actually like to have the chart options in the regular charts too but that would be a lot to ask. Right now I have candlestick charts for the indexes that are separate from the index numbers and it would be nice to have them together like the chart tiles - just with candlesticks instead of a line graph.

We tried a number of things but in the end, it appears that C# programs can use up the free memory on the system as part of the normal garbage collection process. I suspect that this behavior is Windows 10 but I don't know enough about Windows 10 to be sure. There are problems with Windows 10 related to memory leaks, device drivers, etc. and there was a recent update that did hose some systems in performance. I ran the same setup on WIndows 7 and had no memory issues so my plan is to run Medved Trader on a Windows 7 Virtual Machine under Windows 10.
  17. This is why my account indicated that I was down a massive amount this morning. Last must have been set to 0.

I'm just posting what I'm seeing. I assume that you're working on it. You don't have to reply to these - they're more informational for you and for me to keep track of what I've done so far. VM leaks are among the toughest of problems to resolve. 1357 has been running for about 2 hours with no problems. I'll leave it running for another few and then try 1360.

Do you know the Advance - Decline for Ameritrade?

I started it up premarket, left it running and it was at 11 GB after an hour. So I don't need to do anything to reproduce it. I restarted it so I could see the market but will work on backing up my configuration to try with older versions but I'll do that later this morning after the market settles down (assuming that it does).

I went to a meeting at 2 PM where it was around 420 MB and it's at 11 GB at 3:30 PM. So maybe it is reproducible or maybe it's somewhat time-based. I'll send you an email to see what you have available. I guess what I'd like to try tomorrow is to just start it up and leave it running without doing anything and see if it gets to this state.

I played around with columns earlier today and left it running and memory has been stable for a few hours so I think I can cross that out. I'll try some of the other stuff tomorrow morning and let it run for a few hours.

It's not clear to me when the problem started as I have had some very slow behavior, particularly when switching portfolios, in the past. I only thought to look at VM from the other post. I played around with a few things and haven't been able to reproduce the problem. I think that I need to figure out how to reliably reproduce the problem before trying an instrumented image. For my reference: Operations: Adding portfolio, Changing portfolio, delete/add/move column in portfolio, resize to fit all, add charts, move charts, resize charts

I had to restart MT and VM usage is stable below 400 MB. I did a bunch of operations (added portfolio, added intraday charts, modified some positions) and maybe some operation that I did triggered something. I'll let it run for a few hours to see if there's a leak somewhere. If not, then it looks like some operation is leading to memory leaks.
