  1.  I get that L1 is the nbbo, but by what perverse standard are the orders at the SAME PRICE not aggregated?

So there's 100,000 shares bid on a stock at $5 and Ameritrade, and possibly others, are  showing  8,000?  Who does this help?

It's just wrong, and the actual size on the b/a should be disseminated. I know it has nothing to do with MT, but thought you  might know more about it.

I believe  IB does it right,

  2.   Not really a bug, so I'm putting this here.

Ameritrade level 1 does a lousy job of supplying true bid/ask size. Not even close.   Looks like only the primary exchange is shown, but even that is a shaky theory  if you look at the level 2 matrix,

Anything you can do about this (not optimistic, I must say)

  3.  Could you consider adding a start/end time critera to the vwap indicator?   This would allow measuring discreet  periods  rather than the entire day.  For instance I might want to see vwap for the ES from 9:30 and not including all the overnight trade.

  4.   Something causing Time Ticks to not line up on the hour.  Have it set to 15 min on the ES 1 min bar chart. Was working prev, today they print at 9:26 and every 15 min  after instead of 9:30.

NQ looks like starting at 9:29

     tried a stock, looked ok.

  5.   Just noticed this the other day, not sure why it just happened, but can replicate.

Draw a long trendline on an ES volume based chart, then create 'reverse' copy of it.  Place on chart, so it goes OFF the rigtht edge.   I have some extra "horizontal space" on chart, thinking maybe thats part of the issue. Haven't had time to test

Line displays fine, but after closing and reloading MT, that copied line  loses its anchors.

If this is not clear, I'll upload an example

  6.  Looking at both memory readings.   Right now, they are at  2 gig 1.8 gig  and commit set to 1.9 gig.

Thinkorswim for example, a java app, using only 1 gig , and  I have quite  few windows open . Of course they don't cache all the data, I get that.

If I was running only MT, cpu usage would probably not be an issue, but  the spiking to 50% every  few seconds , even on a quad core, does seem to cause performance issues.   Not sure how much control you have of this , in whatever dev platform you're using.

Normally I wouldn't care, but I'm noticing other apps lagging because MT is taking up so much cpu.  For example , moving the cursor in TWS (IB)  gets slow.

As for firefox, I don't think theres a direct connection , but it looked like MT ran better when FF was closed. Who knows. I created a new clean profile in FF just in case there was something in there causing some system slowness.

  7.  did notice something odd. with Firefox closed your cpu usage is much lower.  not sure the reason here.

edit: now up to 2.3 Gig of ram.  Really?

lets say I have 150 symbols, I have less.

thats 15 meg per symbol. with only todays action as tick data.

I know theres other overhead, so call it 10 meg.   I don't get it.

  8.  Saw this post and tried that minimize thing.

Indeed, reduces cpu usage sharply, from the 50% average range to 15% or less!

I have a pretty fast video card, so don't know what MT is doing to hog so much cpu.

I'm using mini charts, so I assume they are the culprit, but you'd know better.

Isn't there something that can be done about this high CPU? I run other apps (tws and TOS) and it bogs down the machine.

Less frequent updating of mini chart poss? Say every few seconds instead of constantly, user can select delay?

PS also back to using a full 2 gig of ram, seems a lot . 30 day setting on data store. 1 day consolidation.

  9.   So I take it RAW is calculated by volume data?   I had assumed that the alert would fire based on the value shown in the t&s regardless. Thanks for the clarification.

I'd think many would be confused by this.  I forgot about the TICK feed setting , I'd seen it when setting up.

  10.  the trade size alert.  seems hit and miss.

have one set to play a sound, clear after 4 seconds. only seeing a few of the qualifying trades.  Set to 1000 shares  multiple trades >1000 not showing

symbol OLN, but doubt that's relevant.

just had a 100,000 block on that symbol and no alert

in fact there is another alert for that symbol >10,000 that also didnt fire.

so for some reason these are skipping. high cpu maybe, Im still seeing heavy cpu usage at all times.

  11.   MT has been very stable, I don't think there have been 2 crashes since I started using it,

Found something today.   I entered a compare symbol indicator, and while I put a symbol in , somehow it didn't take .  Caused an error window to pop up and  MT eventually died.   Happened again when that chart reloaded.

Can't do it now during trading, but see if a blank symbol or a dash in Compare Symbol  causes it for you
