Jerry Medved
You mean like this: https://www.freesound.org/people/Slanesh/sounds/31775/ https://www.freesound.org/people/3bagbrew/sounds/57743/ https://www.freesound.org/people/ljudman/sounds/33244/ https://www.freesound.org/people/Bertrof/sounds/131659/ https://www.freesound.org/people/austin1234575/sounds/213793/ You can search for the sounds here: https://www.freesound.org/browse/tags/sound-effects/
vireya
so, after searching and finding one, then what do I do? Dont you think that there shud be a choice when we elect a sound alert, rather than doing it this way?
Jerry Medved
save the ones you want to your local hard drive. then point to those files in the alert. I may include some with MT. If you find good ones, let me know.
vireya
good for open/close of mkt: https://www.freesound.org/people/ljudman/sounds/33244/ good for a trade notification: https://www.freesound.org/people/suburban%20grilla/sounds/2166/
Jerry Medved
for open/close - I have a full ringing MP3/wave, so that can be played for as long as you want. As for the 2nd one, would have to shorten it a bit
Jerry Medved
found a handy online sound editor here: https://twistedwave.com/online/ easy to cut stuff out for example
MTG
Audacity really good too. You just press record and it records anything that your speakers are playing at the time. Or record your voice saying "QUICK!! BUY NOW!!" http://sourceforge.net/projects/audacity/
vireya
sorry, but I TOLD ya I was a dummyme So when I set an alert for open, I cant find out how to insert the sound you say is already there
Jerry Medved
you can either manually enter the path to the file, or click on the button to the right of the entry field that has the ... on it. That will bring up the Open File download box. You then use that to navigate to where the file in question is located and select the file. MT does not currently include any sound files with the install. I will probably add some in the future. If you want, I can post the NYSE Open/Close bell files.
