New to MT, converting from QT

Spent most of yesterday trying to figure out how to customize MT to look like my QT setup, ran into some problems, resolved most, but still have two questions (suggestions?):

1. The custom color schemes leave something to be desired - most are too dark or too pale - sorta like Windows Aero or Chrome schemes, which I can't stand - is there any way to recreate the "Sunny" scheme from QT, where the colors are much more vibrant? The Office Blue/Black/Silver schemes are all very pale - Black isn't black, it's a washed out grey, and Blue is robin's egg blue - ugh. See attached chart for what I mean - QT has a nice deep dark blue scheme:

Edit - can't upload sample file - tried to create an image gallery, uploaded files but they sit in a queue, won't actually upload - hitting the "continue" button does nothing. Whoops - found the problem - this forum doesn't play well with AdBlockPlus, had to disable it to get the image to upload:

2. Is there any way to import custom stock alerts from QT by importing a file or similar? I have at least 30 price alerts for owned stocks or ones on watchlists set up in QT - recreating all of them from scratch in MT will not be a simple matter, will have to copy all to a piece of paper by hand and recreate in MT.

Hi,

#1 - you are referring to char color schemes - you can create whatever ones you like in MT on SETTINGS / CHARTS / COLOR SETS. You can either start from scratch, or copy of the the existing ones.  MT has a "Sunny" chart color set built in, so you can start on that to make one to your liking.

Office Blue/Black/Silver are built in Visual Styles for the ribbon forms from Microsoft, Office 2010 products. Not something we came up with on our own.  As for the caption window, that will differ depending on the version of Windows you use. On Win 10, it won't be Aero.

#2 - cannot import anything other than portfolios from QT since MT does things significantly differently internally.  Why copy to paper? just open QT and MT at the same time.

Jerry, I'm really struggling with how to figure out how to keep the monitor "focus" on QT and MT when both are open together - running them on Vista - with QT, clicking on the tab in the menu bar brings all open QT windows to the front, doesn't appear to be the same in MT, at least I haven't figured out how to do it yet. I have the "bring all windows to the front" checked off, but I can still see other open apps behind the MT windows - is there a way to make MT take all monitor space so I don't accidentally click outside an MT window and take focus off MT? That's the problem I'm having trying to copy alerts over - when going from QT tab to MT tab things are a scrambled mix of QT/MT items on my monitor. Enlarging the Dashboard just covers up open portfolio windows - it's like MT has no "full screen" option for the entire app? QT doesn't really have that ability either, but for some reason I can't figure out how to customize MT to mimic QT's behavior - only option I see is to have task bar buttons for all open portfolios, but that takes up a lot of space on my Task Bar. Problem might be solved if I can figure out a way to attach or tie the MT Dashboard to the top of a portfolio window like the main QT portfolio window does - you can't "unlink" the QT menu from it - in fact, that's exactly what I need, to permanently attach the Dashboard/Menu to the main MT window - how do I do that?

why don't you just close all QT windows except one portfolio and the alert screen, and close or minimize all MT except the Alert editor and just keep those 2 next to each other.

Full Screen - maximize one of the portfolios.

Your issue is that you want to mimic QT but you turned off the  "bring all windows to the front" option. Can't do that if you want the same results.

Permanently attach dash - Actually, you can minimize the MT dashboard, then just use the Dashboard dropdown that is available on every MT window.  Just hit F12 or click on that colorful icon on top right of the window, just below the min/max/restore buttons

The MT main dashboard has some capabilities not available in the dropdown - the ability to view SOURCES (active sources) or Windows. But as far as the dashboard itself, that is the same
