rocarr
A box popped up saying I would have to manually install the new version of MT. I downloaded the update and it would pause several times when installing. After about 20 minutes it finally finished but nothing happens when I try to start it. I am running the latest version of Windows 10 and don't have problems with any other software I am using. I can't send a log file since I can't get into the program. I tried installing the program in safe mode with the same results.
Jerry Medved
1) reboot Windows 2) run the install you said that it pauses several times while installing - is it doing that after reboot? If so, it is most likely your security software. Which software are you using?
rocarr
I use Avira. Should I disable it and try to install the program again?
Jerry Medved
You can try that, sure.
rocarr
It got almost to the end but is now paused on creating shortcuts so I don't think this is going to help.

Jerry Medved
Also, 1.1.1.1 DNS (with 1.0.0.1 as backup) should work too, though I did not test it.
Jerry Medved
Setup on PC Setting up 8.8.8.8 takes two minutes and requires no technical skill or special software. Even if you’re a computer novice, pick your device below for an easy-to-follow setup guide.Click on the Start menu, then click on Control Panel. Click on Network and Internet. Click on Change Adapter Settings. Right click on the Wi-Fi network you are connected to, then click Properties. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (or Version 6 if desired). Click Properties. Write down any existing DNS server entries for future reference. Click Use The Following DNS Server Addresses. Replace those addresses with the 8.8.8.8 DNS addresses: For IPv4: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 Click OK, then Close. Restart MT.
