Jerry Medved Posted October 14, 2018 Report Share Posted October 14, 2018 A bracket order is a combined LIMIT and STOP order, where if one executes, the other is automatically canceled. Lets say you bought AAPL for 220. Now for the exit, you want to either sell at 230 on the up side, or if it drops, stop out at 215. You would place a bracket order with 215 and 230 as the values and hit SELL. MT automatically determines which is the LIMIT and which is the STOP based on the action. for a SELL, the high price will be the LIMIT and low will be STOP for a BUY, the high price will be the STOP and low will be LIMIT Right now we do not have an option to place the initial buy order together with the automatic sell orders.
