ex_hacker202
Just noticed this on the TDA login page: Coming soon: an improved way to log in to this website You'll have to confirm your identity via text message or security question to log in. This is almost exactly the problem that has caused MT to lose access to TDA streaming data in the past, that repeated login request - I sure hope this doesn't screw up MT! Jerry Medved
that is already being used in MT. They are just adding the same thing to the main website now
ex_hacker202
Well, I can't log into TDA *or* Ally Invest today - and MT keep asking me to confirm my TDA login info but nothing is happening. I don't understand why I can't even get Ally data?
ex_hacker202
Tried restarting MT and now it's stuck at "logging in" - program won't load at all now. Edit: It did finally start running but I still can't get data from Ally or TDA. Edited September 28, 2020 by ex_hacker202 more info
Jerry Medved
if you know how to edit the HOSTS file, add 67.211.217.25 medvedtrader.com 67.211.217.25 www.medvedtrader.com 67.211.217.25 vps.medvedtrader.com then restart MT. ex_hacker202
No joy. And when I try to check my Ally credentials there's no password shown, if I click on "verify account" a popup window opens but then MT completely freezes. Jerry Medved
you did the hosts thing? if so, send me the log
ex_hacker202
Yes, did the hosts file - I'm having a really bizarre DNS issue, that might be the cause - I can browse the internet but WindowsMail can't find the Comcast POP3 server so it freezes up too, also can't use an Excel macro that downloads stock quotes into my spreadsheets from Yahoo. This is just really bizarre - I've tried changing DNS servers, rebooted the modem, but nothing, and I mean nothing, is changing, all three apps are broken. I've been working on this ALL DAY and I'm about ready to lose my mind! Will send you the log. Jerry Medved
I know that if you switch to google DNS, should not have problems, at least not with our stuff.
Jerry Medved
in general, DNS for most people should be pointing to the right servers and everything should be working. As for TD Ameritrade, they had an issue yesterday and should be resolved today
ex_hacker202
Thanks Jerry - everything working fine today, getting data from both TDA and Ally.
