3acor
Hey, To get the 4hour timeframe, I use 240min. But I noticed it gives wrong data as compared to 4hour timeframe on TWS. Also it starts at 1:00am?
Jerry Medved
what is shown will depend on the timeframe selected AND on whether or not you have extended hours showing. It sounds like you do. On the chart's toolbar, click on the VIEW tab. Assuming US stocks, make sure that the timeframe is set to US Market Hours and for your purposes, set the Extended Hours setting to NEVER. 3acor
Extended hours is shown on both TWS and MT but the data is different Here is a picture
Jerry Medved
it looks like the bars on the two charts are starting at different times. with 4 hour frequency the start time is really arbitrary, especially if extended hours are being shown. 3acor
in MT the day always starts at 1:00am on the 4hour TF but it shouldn't be the case since the market opens at 4am? Edited January 13, 2021 by 3acor
Jerry Medved
MT has no idea about 4 AM. The hours it knows about on US Markets are 9:30 to 4 and everything else is extended hours. MT candle in that situation starts at 9:00 (closest hour prior to open) If you want it to start at 4, then you will want to setup a timeframe where primary hours are from 4 to 8 and set the chart to use that timeframe EDIT - it would start at 9, and then go in either direction, so that is why you see it start at 1
