Gord Posted April 1, 2021 Report Share Posted April 1, 2021 option chains from Questrade frequently don't fill completely. Gaps at certain strikes are seen. Happens with multiple symbols. Often very slow to load if they do fill in. Sometimes get an error message from Questrade saying trying to load too many symbols. ie. Requesting 63 when restricted to 50. I make the chain window display as few strikes as possible to hopefully it doesn't try to load as many but doesn't always work not do I always get the Questrade error message. Jerry Medved Posted April 1, 2021 Report Share Posted April 1, 2021 with Questrade's 50 symbol limit, getting over that limit is very easy. you can see the # of symbols you are using on the main Dashboard window if you click on SOURCES and you will see it change as you resize the option chain window. Every row shown on the option chain is a separate quote, plus a few extra for buffer. Personally I do not think it is practical to use Questrade for option chains. I would recommend getting QuoteMedia: https://medvedtrader.com/quotemedia and use that in conjunction with your Questrade account in MT.
