Relative Volume and Relative Volatility indicator

Recommended Posts

Hey,

If I would like to compare the Volume on a given frequency of the current session from open up until the current time to the average volume of X previous sessions from open up until the same time as the current time will the Relative volume indicator do the trick?
For example: Compare the volume of today on the 1min from 9:30-10:00am to that of the average volume on the 1min of the last 5 days from 9:30-10:00

Is there a similar indicator but for the Volatility?

The relative volume indicator doesn't compare similar periods. It takes the entire averaging period as the benchmark comparison. And is done per bar. So for 9:30-10:00am it will compare the last 5m bar and compare it to the average of the averaging period 5m bars. This is not an ideal comparison since volume is generally much higher at the open.

I see. I just want a scanner that can tell me if a stock during the current session has higher volume and volatility than usual
