PaulDee Posted October 9, 2014 Report Posted October 9, 2014 Hi I am not sure if this is a Bug but this forum section will do for now. When I start MT currently Version 1.0.4792.1833, the log level is set to none despite it being at 10 when I close MT. For problem solving and build testing, I would prefer it to default to a level of 10 at startup, however it is preferable to have it at the level at which MT shutdown. Let me know. Cheers Quote
Jerry Medved Posted October 9, 2014 Report Posted October 9, 2014 if the EXE is started without any commandline parameters, it's log level is zero. It defaults to 10 because our install currently adds the relevant commandline to the default shortcut. If you created a custom shortcut to start MT, it may not have the log level. Also, not sure if log level will be preserved when MT is automatically restarted after update Quote
PaulDee Posted October 9, 2014 Author Report Posted October 9, 2014 Hi, JM! Thanks, however my shortcut to MT.EXE does not have any parameters. I haven't created a custom shortcut to MT.EXE. Would you advise what I would put in there, please? Cheers Quote
PaulDee Posted October 10, 2014 Author Report Posted October 10, 2014 Hi, JM! I installed Build 1.0.4836.2233 and checked the shortcut before starting MT but no commandline parameters. However, the log level on MT startup was set for 10. So, all good, thanks. Cheers Quote
Jerry Medved Posted October 10, 2014 Report Posted October 10, 2014 Ahmmm, if the shortcut does not have the log level parameter, yet MT starts with log level set to 10, then you did not use the same shortcut to start MT. Log Level is not stored anywhere - it is only set via commandline or explicitly on the dashboard, for that session. Quote
PaulDee Posted October 10, 2014 Author Report Posted October 10, 2014 OK, yes, the restart for the time issue now shows a log level of "none"...sorry, I missed that before. The MT application folder only has two files for MT.EXE, with the second being the shortcut...this would execute first. Anyway, I will add the commandline parameter to the shortcut, as that is the most logical solution. Thanks for your help. Cheers Quote
Jerry Medved Posted October 10, 2014 Report Posted October 10, 2014 the shortcut that MT adds would not be located in the application folder. If you have one there, you must have created it. MT creates a shortcut on the desktop and in the Start menu Quote
PaulDee Posted October 10, 2014 Author Report Posted October 10, 2014 OK, I see, yes the date on the application folder shortcut is in July. I checked the shortcut on the desktop and sure enough it has the commandline parameter for the loglevel. This is handy to know. Thanks again. Cheers Quote
