ehjump Posted November 2, 2014 Report Posted November 2, 2014 Hi Jerry/Mike; All of yesterday internet service was down in my area, so could not access MT. Would like to have an offline option for MT, so one can run MT & review charts at least without the need for an internet connection. Thanks. Quote
0 Jerry Medved Posted November 2, 2014 Report Posted November 2, 2014 MT should let you login even if the internet connection is down, no? as for the charts, it will show you whatever data it has while offline, but it can't magically get you data without a connection. Quote
0 ehjump Posted November 2, 2014 Author Report Posted November 2, 2014 Sorry for the late response (no internet again.) To respond to your question, without an internet connection I can't get past the login page for MT. When my internet connection resumed I was able to load MT past the login page, but could not without the internet connection - the login page just blinked and nothing else happened after clicking the login button. Yes, with the offline option, MT will not update the chart with new data, but MT should load and show previously accumulated data on the charts. Quote
0 Jerry Medved Posted November 2, 2014 Report Posted November 2, 2014 I will check on that - I know I had stuff there to handle the situation where the login server was temporarily unavailable. Quote
0 Jerry Medved Posted November 3, 2014 Report Posted November 3, 2014 I checked and MT did start OK off-line. I just logged into MT. then shut down. then turned off the internet connection and started MT again. this will only work if the regular login occurred on the same computer recently. go to FILE / Export Settings. Leave the checkboxes already checked, and also check LOG FILE. Export, then email me the exported file please. Quote
0 ehjump Posted November 3, 2014 Author Report Posted November 3, 2014 Emailed the settings file to you. Quote
0 ehjump Posted November 3, 2014 Author Report Posted November 3, 2014 Jerry; Just did exactly what you described above: 1) Internet connection on, start MT and login works fine. Shutdown MT. 2) Shutdown internet connection 3) Double click MT shortcut Icon, type in password, click "login". This time MT login does not work. Do NOT shutdown MT. 4) Reconnect internet 5) MT password was not deleted from step 3) above, click "login" and MT works fine. So I still can't login without an internet connection even though I'm using the same computer. Quote
0 Jerry Medved Posted November 4, 2014 Report Posted November 4, 2014 Current version supports offline login only if the password is saved, so automatic login only. Next build will support it for manual login, as long as you don't do many multiple failed logins. If you do, then it will no longer login even with correct credentials until you are online. Quote
0 ehjump Posted November 4, 2014 Author Report Posted November 4, 2014 Okay. That's good. Thanks. Quote
