only simple when it works. Its not simple to implement - would have to do the full API anyway and if we were going to do that, then wouldnt need DDE. It also only works if both MT and the other app are running with the same Bittness. If using 32 bit Excel on a 64 bit Windows, MT will be 64 bit and DDE wouldnt work

I thought an older version of QT had DDE export capability, but maybe I was wrong.  Yes, DDE is over 20 years old and newer protocols are more robust and better supported.  I was hoping to use QT as a data feed with Tradestation via a RT Soft utility, but it's kludgey.  Can't wait for the custom indicators to be available in  QT!

QT did not have any DDE. There may have been a 3rd party excel plugin that connected to QT that then let you use DDE but not sure. MT implements the same HTTP API as QT did so you can still use that, but we have not yet implemented any streaming API.
