  1. we are not charging now, so go for it.

As for later once we release, yes, we will definitely have something, though have not worked out all the details. There will not be any ads.

  2. not crazy about adding stuff that always shows - that gets into the "too many options" situation. I know others throw everything and the kitchen sink into the charts but its a PIA to use.

What we are thinking is to do this:

    1) When annotation is being drawn / moved, show the FREESTYLE Trace Cross-hairs (not the values box)... That gets you the date/time and Price at the mouse

    2) add Change values to the values shown for the cross-hair on the X and Y axis

This way while you are drawing the trendline, you can see the change values.  If you need to see or measure, just draw or move the line.

  3. @hwkaiser,

the saving of indicators is a good idea, but not something we can deal with for the initial release. Would have to make some design changes and right now don't have the time available for that. Will save that for subsequent versions.

  4. the whole point of the Watchlist is that it doesn't have the detailed info about symbols but can be entered easily via simple text string.  I cannot have symbol details if stuff is stored/entered like that.

NOTE column - the column selection right now does not know what type of portfolio is being viewed, so the columns you select are there regardless of portfolio type.

In Portfolio you can not enter symbol directly, only via the edit feature, and then only individually,

No. you can hit INS on the portfolio and enter many symbols at once. (INS or the ADD SYMBOLS button)

however, if you create a new portfolio you can enter multiple symbols at once initially. the Note field is selectable and editable

No idea what you are referring to here. Where exactly does a new "portfolio" let you add multiple symbols that an existing one does not?

  5. Regarding the error - note that you can right click on the Detail text and copy. Easier and more complete than sending a picture.

I checked the log - the issue was the stuff you pasted, got accepted as one symbol, which was too long. Will add the length check.

    Thanks

  6. the watchlist does have an area showing the symbols and letting you edit them.

But as far as fast symbol entry, short of mind reading, I don't see how you can cut the time down beyond what it takes to type in the symbol and with our method, you have just one more keystroke. No macro is going to know what symbol you want, and you would still have to hit a key or move a mouse to initiate the macro, so I really don't see how you can get any faster.

  7.

Ability to configure, clone and save Indicators.  i.e. H.Line(PClose)  etc....

If I understand you correctly, you want to save groups of indicators, so you can then later apply one or more groups to the charts, where as templates overwrite everything. Right?

As for colors, any saved indiators would not save colors. Those need to be auto assigned, so that they don't conflict with other indicators on the charts.

You can hide indicators without removing them either by right click option on the indicator legend, of if you go to Select Indicator screen, you can select multiple indicators on the right side, then right click on the selection and pick HIDE

  8. y, the issue is not backfill actually. It is has to do with the first few quotes after you clear the data.  IB doesn't send a full quote. It sends pieces of data as they change. So when you clear the data, MT doesn't have any LAST until something changes. For now I made it not record zero last, but that may cause other problems. will look how to handle that more elegantly.

  9. there are 4 zoom options

    • Ribbon Buttons
    • + and - keys
    • holding down the CTRL Key and then using the mouse wheel
    • holding down the CTRL Key and then highlighting the area that you want to zoom in on on the chart. When you let go of the mouse button, it zooms

The + and - keys should work even on laptop keyboards, though you may need tho hold down the FN key or something similar to get to those keys.  Or just use +/- on top, commonly to right of the zero

  10. got your log. will look. As for the spike, next time it happens, please use the trace option (cross-hair) to move over the candle in question and tell me which of the values are messed up (Open, High, Low, Close) and what the corresponding value is on the Level I quote.  From what I've seen, the LOW has been a problem.

  11. the error has to do with trendlines. Please go to FILE/Export Settings on a portfolio or dashboard. Select Settings and "Log File" on the left side and leave it as "To share with others" on the right. Export, then email me the exported file. Thanks

  12. You will be able to position windows basically the same way. We have some ideas for doing custom docking in the future, but it is a bit complicated to implement, so don't want to get started on that now.
