I don't see how that can happen. MT doesn't care what machine TWS is on - doesn't even know about it. What makes you think that the reason for the problem is the different machine?
What specific symbol were you backfilling?

automated trading would not be in the near future.

Yes, d is correct (for the default date format)
As for the future date, I put in some kludge in MT date processing for Yahoo data to take care of the issue when Yahoo screws up. Will be in the next update
-
Hmm, it seems that Yahoo is returning "12/31/2013", 10:10 PM as the time on the quote. MT is expecting the time to be UTC, so that is where the bad data is coming from. I will see if we can get it to return some specific timezone

I see the Jan 1 on Level I quotes. Will check why. As for "23" - what do you mean? is it showing the number 23 or are you just abbreviating something? If just the number, then what do you have set on Options for the date format?

according to size. Just averaging would make it meaningless, no?

The portfolio editor supports dragging. You can drag the portfolio up/down
-
the symbol does have to be entered somewhere, be at the portfolio or the watch list. We do make it very easy to add it. just hit insert. On the watch list, you also have a text box on the ribbon where you can enter symbols or Edit them.
-
you can type the symbol on the chart. What exactly are you looking for?

you can type the symbol on the chart

rays - Look on the DRAW tab. You can also hold down the ALT key while drawing.
Horizontal Lines - hold down the SHIFT key and draw the trendline. that will force it to be horizontal.
Session Breaks - Yes, we can add user settings for every little thing, but that ends up being just overwhelming and impossible for anyone to learn.

Lakota, check your email.
Right now we have TDA implemented. Hope to have E*Trade in the future

MT does it differently. right click on the Y axis for some choices. You can also hold down the ALT key and then click (and hold) on top of the Y axis scale and drag down
-
Ah, that. We don't have a setting to turn off the session lines. You can however set the Grid color to be either very faint, or just set Grid to be same as the background color
NOTE: you cannot edit system color sets. Copy it then edit the copy. Then set the chart to use the copied one
-
look at timeframes. MT should however default them correctly without having to define your own. if not, let me know the symbols and datafeed

It is something we plan to add in the future.

QT was same as MT.

why would you always want to use Yahoo?
Ameritrade - MT just gets the time of the trade, not the date. Also the quote time may be for something liek bid/ask change. not necessarily a trade. Its not Last Trade Time in MT. Its just Quote time
-
you left out a very key item - where are you getting quotes from in MT?
NOTE: for some datafeeds, MT would use system time for quotes.
-
MT already had change %. If it is not in the column chooser, then you already have it displayed. Try scrolling to the right of the portfolio.
We have attachments disabled. Not just a low post count issue.
Backfill

ok, can you do this
1) Stop all quotes
2) Set logging to 200 (there is a combo box on the Dashboard for it)
3) Backill
Wait a minute.
If it does not fill, go to FILE/Export and select the "To share with others" option. On the left side, select User Settings and the Log file. Don't need to select the other sections.
Export, and send mt the export file.
Thanks
