we have it in beta now. Limited datafeeds and indicators and no trading, alerts, Paintbars at this time.
Don't have an ETA for non-beta release

Woodfish - I emailed you

do not have control over that. The caption display style is controlled by the themes that you select and thinner is not an option

patience

Yes, I am actually working on that right now. Once you select a source on one portfolio, MT will use the last used source if you create another.Just added a startup wizard which had you select a preferred source and some symbols for the default portfolio and news sources the first time you run MT.

We will be implementing alerts in the future

Schwab was not cooperative in the past. We may do their snapshot quotes, but unless we get their cooperation, we won't be able to implement other aspects of the datafeed.
We do hope to tie into OptionsXpress (which is owned by Schwab), but have not explored it yet

Chris,
what shows on the dashboard under the L1 column? how many symbols? and how many symbols are in the portfolio?
when you click start, do you see it change to STOP? Do you have the quote source selected?
-
Intraday or Historical?
What frequency?
Please send a chart screenshot together with the saved template to support. Thanks
-
that was just added in last version (or one before that). Look in the VIEW Tab. you can Save/Load layouts. They are stored in separate files so they can be shared. Dropdown under the button shows you recent ones.

ALT - will do

Not sure why mike used pointer vs crosshairs on the chart most of the time. will have to revisit that
-
I added the checkbox, but it wasn't hooked up yet in the version you have. Will be in the next release.
-
So those would no longer be lines
Don't know about that one. Have not had any demand for that and would be a real pain to implement in the way the annotations are handled
-
IB - yes
MBTrading - probably. Haven't looked at their API offering recently

if the user sets the default explicitly, then whatever they set it to stays that way and MT would not change it on its own - no last configuration
If auto, then it would do something like save last configuration - which would be saved every time you close L II
the issue with last configuration is that if you have multiuple Level II windows open and you close MT or re-load a layout, which specific one is considered "last" would be arbitrary
-
considering relatively few setup options for Level II, I would rather not go the template route. I can specify a "default" configuration, either by letting the user set it explicitly, or having the app do it automatically. If auto, I can probably do it at the time a Level II window is closed, so the last L II window you close will be the layout that will be used for any symbols that don't already have something saved.
What do you think?

on the portfolio screen, does the button on top/left, on the ribbon, say START or STOP?
If START, click on it
-
Specifying Pounds/Pence for UK stocks is a bit too specific for the general Start Wizard, though maybe I can default it if I detect the UK Culture.

we are trying to satisfy both the mouse and keyboard people. The keyboard shortcuts are mostly a secondary way to access some command. It is pretty rare for it to be the only way to access something, In the case of the crosshair, I really don't want to make the user have to click on something in order to bring it up. User has the option to have it always on, one way or another (the choice has been added to the next version). The keyboard shortcuts are only used to temporarily toggle the selection.
As for right click menus, I mentioned before my apprehension of overcrowding them again. I do plan to add some user customization for that in the future.

The timezone and culture defaulting occurs only the first time. To get it to do it again you would have to delete the configuration file that holds the settings
-
Yes, they will be but MT defaults the display timezone and the culture based on the current computer settings, so vast majority of people shouldn't need to mess with that. Did the defaulting not work OK for you?
Default timeframe - yes, that could be one item, though I'm thinking - will someone who has not used MT Yet know the relevance of the Default Timeframe?
-
I want to do a Startup wizard to guide the user through some common setup options that everyone will need. For example:
- Select Level I quote source
- Specify some symbols for initial portfolio
Now the question is, what else would be so common for everyone, that would warrant it being in the startup wizard. I was thinking maybe selecting the display timezone, though I think MT defaults that pretty well, so don't know if that is really needed. Anything else?
Please respond here with your thoughts

thanks for the heads-up. Will check

I assume you are referring to Horizontal Line indicator? What specific parameters for the line?
