Setting an alert for say, 400 shares, and a 5 second timeout. Getting frequent periods where the alert should fire but doesn't. Looking right at t&s . Seems the trades are being missed for some reason. Seems random.

😊 Why didnt I think of that Certainly tried that before bothering you . I use a 4k TV screen , so charts are relatively small. and no adjustment to color makes much diff. Probably because you chop a few pixels off the edges guess you could make that an option (Thick VolumeBars)

I assumed you were making the vol bars narrower for cosmetics . so is there any way to make the vol bars bright when displaying a full day or no ? not a huge problem, just wondering

p1 exhibits the low brightness p2 shows the same chart but showing fewer minutes so the volume bars expand, and don't seem to have a lowered brightness note the price bars are the same in both

I think even in your pic, the volume bars are dimmer than the price bars

Any idea why the volume bars are much dimmer than the same price bar (same width) ?? Colors are set pretty bright in settings., but dont get full brightness until I zoom out quite a bit. Makes them hard to see

I'm putting question here since its the same subject. Playing around with the Booktrader in IB and MT, it seems on an OTOCA order, you cant adjust all three legs at the same time. Am I right about this ? Wouldn't it be useful to be able to move the parent limit price and have the other legs follow along at the same original 'distance' ? Seems too obvious, I must be mistaken . 😉

That's what I did for TRADING, but for DATA SOURCE with the existing IB setup (port 7496) I had to change the port to 7497 .

Fooling around with the IB paper account. Have it up and running, but wound up changing the port to 7497 in MT to get quotes from it (They use by default this port # vs 7496 for the real account, as you know ) Is this the preferred way of getting paper trader quotes , as I'll have to go in and change it back to 7496 They claim they use two diff ports so you can run them both at the same time. Any chance of accidentally sending a trade to the real account from mt ??

Does MT support ameritrade paper trading at all?

I mean who is going to give up TWS to trade off a web page ??? They say they are going to make it easy to switch from 'pro' to lite, but theres no comparison for any active trader. If they want to compete properly, they need to allow trading off the TWS (and API) , where the trade gets routed to payment for order flow houses if thats what you want for the free trade I personally could care less where the trade gets filled, as long as I'm executed at the current price. Smart routing is no bargain , you get frontrun and pennied anyway

yeah, based on the web site they put up , it indicates no TWS access, which would be very sad and wrong. This would be very good for you if MT could access.

Pretty big news today on this. IB dragged into the 21st century with free trading. Jerry, you have any insight into whether you will be able to access the api on this ? Based on what I have read , they aren't allowing access to the free trades via TWS (not 100% sure about this , and it's a problem for scalping if thats true) Just wondering what you might know about it

Could use a separate column for the TriggerAlert message component OR put the message before the descriptive text.

Nope. Backfilling the primary still doesnt trigger the other COMPARE symbols.

Still having an issue with backfill on charts with multiple symbols. Backfill only works on the primary symbol. It should initiate for all symbols on the chart. If I have 5 symbols , I have to click on each one and do a manual backfill. This is on charts where the symbols arent in an open portfolio , which could be used to backfill all.

Actually haven't had problems using the same symbol for amtd backfill up till now . If I have a problem I'll try the continuous Any idea on the IB throttling? I only have a limited number of symbols using IB backfill, so I don't think overload is the issue
