stock777
Just went Windows 10 on a new build . Having some issues with SOME MT windows jumping from one virtual desktop to another, unasked. Not seeing this with any other app (yet) Is this something you've heard of or is it a new one ? stock777
Tried locking all windows, no help. Figured it out, what's happening is, when I move from Desktop 1 to Desktop 2, if one of your windows is active (selected), it follows the move . No good. See if you can duplicate the problem
stock777
Actually, seeing this jumping around even when the window is not active.
Jerry Medved
MT does not support virtual desktop
stock777
I was going to say, the problem is probably the MS code and not yours, but Virtual Desktops are 'supposed' to be transparent to the app I used MT (current!) and QT before it for a very long time using Dexpot , a Virtual Desktop utility. This was under Windows 7 So not sure what you mean by doesn't support. \ Running Thinkorswim and TWS simultaneously, neither exhibit this window jumping issue Problem is , Dexpot hasn't been updated for years, and I wanted to avoid using abandonware. Jerry Medved
VD is not completely transparent, as you noticed
stock777
lol, tell you what, the built in VD is so heinous, I've loaded up Dexpot to see if it runs well enough to use Billions of dollars and they cant work up a usable VD product at MSFT They could have paid the dexpot guy a few 100k and had a world class utility
stock777
So far , so good. 10000x better than the ridiculous W10 implementation, and haven't seen any of the issues I reported (yet) I think they actually hide the window off screen, not sure how W10 does it. stock777
pleased to report that a 10+ years old program not updated for 3+ years , works better at virtual desktops than MSFT's up to date code. who else is not surprised ?
