Extended Hours new options

gnib

Question

Jerry,

Would you please add new options to the Extended Hours in Settings:

Last Two Periods

During Ext.Hours (Last Two Periods)

When the market opens, the most useful extended hours information is from Pre Market today and After Hours yesterday, especially if there is earnings or other announcements after close yesterday, hence "Last Two Periods". "During Ext.Hours (Last Two Periods)" basically follows "During Ext.Hours" and shows the last two extended periods only during extended hours. Once market opens, it shows just regular hours.

It would be great if there could be some volume requirements for showing extended hours, such as minimum volume or minimum Vol%, but you may have reasons not doing it or maybe too difficulty to implement it?

By the way, why is "Vol%" not working at all for TDAmeritrade? It's always empty.

Thanks a lot!

Vol % - TD Ameritrade datafeed does not provide the Average Volume data, and thus any columns that rely on it will not get updated. Vol % is based on Average Volume. If you open the Historical chart (and it gets backfilled), MT will calculate the Average Volume at that point, but only on that symbol

Jerry,

Vol% still works on QuoteTracker for TDAmeritrade. There are some weird numbers, e.g. URBN has avg vol of 38, and DATA 99, so huge Vol% for them everyday, but it works for most symbols, I don't need to backfill historical charts for their Vol% to show up. Maybe, QT and MT query Vol% differently?

Thanks.

Hi, thanks for adding new extended hours options.

I would like to suggest something for your consideration:

Please change the handling of Extended Hours to specify explicitly (in the timeframes options) which hours are to be included and make those hours shaded in the chart.

Example1 (RTH: 09:30->16:00, ETH: 16:00->17:00) would be used for Canadian equity markets.

Example2 (RTH: 09:30->16:00, ETH: 06:00->09:30, 16:00->20:00) would be used for US equity markets.

If there are no trades during the time in question, so be it- the space will be blank, but at least charts will be consistent when switching symbols. (Currently the amount of horizontal space in each chart varies according to the outside-regular-hours activity seen.)

Thanks again for the awesome work you are doing.
