  1. From memory because I tried this about a month ago - When I say "doesn't seem to hold" - for one reason or the other the stop order didn't get executed in interactive brokers. But let me try what you are suggesting and see what happens.
  2. I'm using the saved orders to add buttons to my screen to enter orders when pressed. My entry sizes the position based on the concept that the Low of Day is my stop So I use Low of Day variable to calculate position size. I would like to add a stop automatically through Interactive Brokers once the order is filled. I tried adding a second leg to the order with a stop at low of day but it doesn't seem to hold or take in interactive brokers. Is that the right way to add a stop after placing an order through the system ? If not, is there another /better way? Thanks
  3. A few months back, Mike M. provided some great code to help put a scan column on my sheet for after hours volume %. The link is here: https://forums.medvedtrader.com/topic/4311-after-hrs-volume/#comment-20686 I noticed today that SNAP had massive after hrs volume but it was not showing because there was also very high volume during the day today and this compares I believe after hrs volume today to todays' volume. (I think). Any way to modify this to potentially show after hrs volume today vs the average volume over the last x days. Doesn't really matter if length of avg volume is 10 days or 20 days. Thanks
  4. I have a number of indicators on the chart; some I want to stay there regularly (like some automatic fib lines) and some i'd like to be able to toggle off easily (moving averages). If I use the "hide all indicator" i lose the ones I want to keep; so my option is to right click on the indicators and then pick show or hide; which is 2 steps and something i have to go through for 4 or 5 moving averages each time. Since you have "edit parameters" as part of the right click - I think it would probably be better if, when you left clicked, it toggled show/hide rather than taking you to "edit paramaters". I would think people would use that more often then actually changing the parameters on a regular basis. Then if they (occasionally) want to change the parameters they can do that from the right click. Would appreciate if you would consider this as it would streamline things for me quite a bit. Thanks
  5. For what it's worth, i"d love a flagging type feature too. I found that using sections for this is hard when you have a long list because if you are toward the bottom of a list and have to drag it or copy it all the way to the top it just is difficult to do. What I do as a workaround is I just have a separate watchlist. So I have call is my "B" universe of 100 stocks, each day I go through and have a blank "A" universe watchlist sitting next to it on the screen and I can just copy in the ones I want for the next day. I think it's easier/faster then the sections; but that's just my workflow.

    DXFEED

Do we know how long the historical and intraday backfills are? (How many days back for each?)
  7. Yes 9am eastern. I'm in eastern. and yes, i think that is the issue.
  8. WAnted to followup since I am seeing the same thing again as before. Premarket data when shown on the historical chart is impacting the day before rather than the day of. In the first chart ( 5 minute with aftermarket)... you can see the stock today (UPST) was still around 176 until about 7am today; so all the upward movement was after 7am today. In the 3rd chart you can see with real time off how yesterday (12/2) closed. This is accurate. In the 2nd chart, when I turn real time on today at 9am... you can see that the price increase from today is changing the 12/2 bar not adding a 12/3 bar. I have tried backfilling UPST multiple times from 2 different sources and the daily bar is not added premarket. The black background chart is interactive brokers with aftermarket data turned ON and is showing what i'd expect; which is the close from yesterday and a morning up bar today. Thanks for looking into.
  9. Hey guys - I normally do swing trading and look for low risk entries on a shorter time frame (intraday) to find entries. I've started flipping my watch list to Tile - Simple Transparent Chart View - after about 10am as it gives me a quick visual for maybe the top 15 stocks I'm following rather than just a listing. Would it be possible to enhance the product to do the following: * I sort my watchlist by Vol% most of the time to see which stocks are getting the most volume relative to normal. Any chance we could control the sort order of the Charts? * I prefer Candle or OHLC charts; any chance there could be an option added to view them that way instead of the area chart. * I would also love an option to display intraday charts (like 1 day which is what I use) in 5 minute rather than 1 minute timeframe. Not sure how much these are being used by others and whether it's worth your time but wanted to put out the request. Thanks
  10. in exploring further i think my original thinking was off and the differences we are seeing is as follows. if I keep real time off; i get the 4:00pm market close price of yesterday as the last bar. if i turn real time on in the morning, the closing price from the prior day stays the same, but any activity the night before as well as this morning are reflected in the next bar. in other words, yesterday's after market activity is not impacting yesterday's bar, it's impacting todays. in other words, if you look at PPSI - which happened to move a lot after market yesterday - the chart closed at 7.63 at 4:30 and is reflected accurately in the chart below. (rtdaily1 , bottom pic) But it moved to like 11 by end of the after market as shown by the 5 minute chart, below. (rtdaily2, 2nd to bottom pic) But if I turn Real Time on, it adds a bar for today (11/30) but includes both after market from yesterday as well as premarket from today in that bar. (rtdaily3, 3rd to bottom pic) So the issue is that the 11/29 after market data is impacting the wrong day. You can see the interactive brokers chart (black background) as to how i would expect it would have worked when I turn after market data on. (ibpicture, top). Back filling doesn't seem to make any difference.
  11. what i found is there is a setting which says "real time updates on historical charts" if i turn that OFF, then prior day works ok in premarket. but then i have to turn it on once day starts. i'll have to check backfill tomorrow pre market. So the issue it seems is that when you have real time updated on historical charts - at least on my system - it is updating the prior day if it's premarket since i assume there is no "today" bar on the daily chart.?? does that make sense?
  12. I'm wondering if this is a setting somewhere. When we are in premarket - my daily bar from the prior day is not showing correctly; it is taking into account what is happening that morning. For instance, today (11/29), on the QQQ chart, the bar on Friday was a red candle, as shown in the chart with the black background from Interactive Brokers. Yet the daily chart I have in Medved is showing differently during premarket as the market is up today. (Note the last bar on the right on the dark chart is correct.
  13. ok; thanks. I'm sure you have many priorities but since I know you were able to turn paintbar code into scans would be cool at some point to allow us to use the same concept to build / plot custom indicators. i have other things i'd like to plot if i could.
  14. I would love that too. I did find you can temporarily see the change in price if you use the line drawing tool or the fib tools; you can see them while drawing is active. But I'd love to be able to have them permanently display if possible.
  15. I have about 5 moving averages on my daily chart (10,21,50,etc). I was thinking it would be nice to be able to toggle them all on or off at once to see the candles + the other indicators. i know I can click on each one in the title area one and a time to turn them on or off, and also know i can turn off or on all indicators - but neither is exactly what I want. Would I be able to create an indicator using the paintbar tools that would display moving averages? In other words I know I'm able to draw a horizontal line w/ the paintbar; can I plot a moving average through that system so I could write an indicator that would display multiple moving averages that could be toggled on or off together? If not, any other suggestions? Thanks!
  16. thanks by the way; really liking the hotkeys/saved orders. I've got about 6 buttons that each execute a different trade based on rules that calculate the # of shares based on targeted stop losses and it's so much easier to just stay in the system and execute the trades with the buttons then jumping to the broker.
  17. Currently TIF = default. Does that need to be day_ext or one of the other options?
  18. I have a hotkey/saved order that i try to execute after hrs to interactive brokers. it works fine during regular hours but after hrs I get the following message: IB SERVER RESPONSE: oRDER mESSAGE: Buy xxx TSLA... NASDAQ.NMS Warning: your order will not be placed at the exchange until xxx I assume I maybe have to change a parameter to let it work after hours?
  19. Yesterday BE had enormous volume. When I was looking at the daily chart just before 9:30 this morning it was not showing the correct volume for yesterday. I took a screenshot (attached). I have also included the screenshot from what it is showing now, which is correct. Is there a reason at 9:15 or so this morning, yesterday's volume what not be showing up accurately on the daily chart? I did try backfilling and it didn't change. I've seen this before with other charts. I don't know if there is a setting for this somewhere, a bug, or just bad data.
  20. This may be obvious/easy (sorry) but is there a way to use EMA's or other items in Hotkeys? Based on your prior help I have one entry set up to calculate the # of shares based on risking 1500 from the low of day: floor(1500/(Price - TodayLow)) Is there a way to put an EMA, for instance 10 day EMA into where TodayLow currently is? I see a variable section but wasn't sure how to put that formula in there if that is the right place...
  21. yeah; it's not a huge deal; i'll get used to it. would be nice but not urgent.

    Account View

Getting used to using the account view window rather than my IB brokerage window, which is good. One thing that would help. You have a flag for showing closed positions. Any chance there could be an option there to show but split them off into a different group? REason i ask is the main thing i want to do is monitor just my open positions; but i also like knowing my P&L from the day which includes the closed positions. If there was some way to group open vs closed but still show the daily total as is, that would be helpful. thanks
  23. thanks. i think i'm ok if i just send it at this point. it's a really cool feature in general. there are 6 or 7 typical trades i make and # of shares is always a calculation; either based on % of account or amount of risk to low of day or another indicator - so being able to just press a button, have it calculate the share and place the order really simplifies things. thanks
